Optial auido help

Thread Starter
I got a PS3 for Xmas and want to run it through my speaker system but it has no optical input. Is there any converter/splitter type system I can buy to avoid me having to replace my whole surround sound setup?

My Surrond Sounds is also my DVD player (a Phillips) which upscales, is multi region and plays pretty much any format I throw at it so I'd really rather not replace it if I can.

Any Ideas?

AVS forum had that question 3 years back...looks like there's a converter box that turns the optical data into coax output.

Behold the Monoprice Adapter!

(assuming your dvd/surround sound combo has a coax input available)

Cool thanks!

I do have coax input but I'm currently using it for the Sky HD box's audio.

I will have to take a closer look at the input's tonight and see if i can move that to run through something else.
