Tonight begins the monthlong celebration of the Plaza's 70th anniversary.

The Gala features food/drank/art/auction, and a showing of MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON with an intro by Robert Osborne himself. Tix are $20, which actually sounds like a pretty decent deal, considering the food.

Later in the month, they're also showing GONE WITH THE WIND, WIZARD OF OZ, and GULLIVER'S TRAVELS.

GWTW and Wizard of OZ showing a few times this weekend.

The 2:20 OZ show on Saturday is preceded by an hourlong presentation with an actual Munchkin, now 91 years old and living in Dublin, GA. There are some other OZ-themed activities going on in that hour, and the Munch-gent is going to speak on stage either before or after the film.
