It's nuts. I've been a member of these boards since 2000. Ten years! I seriously have know some of you longer than my current acquaintances. And I'm happy to have met many in person. We're seriously long over due for another Chewer gathering.

Joined in 2000 as well. HOORAY FOR NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!

Caribou fucker. I got that moniker because I am from Canada, apparently. When Nick and I flew out to LA to meet another chewer, Nick's write up had a picture of caribou in it with the label "Mike's bitches". That doesn't seem so long ago, but damn.

I just saw someone post an image in the Troll/Idiodt thread that reminded me: when someone throws something out there that we all KNOW is going to result in a fight, somone used to invariably post [*Grabs Popcorn*] after the instigating post, but before the reply. Never fails to get a chuckle out of me.

BTW, some of you may have seen me use the word CHUD-munity(c) around here to refer to the community of Chewers and readers on the site


I just wanted to say, that even though I include a copywrite symbol with that word, it's cool to use it too if you want. Just make sure to include the (c). I basically just don't want anyone to steal my word and profit from it.

My dad used to be a copywrite lawyer, among other things, and if you let a word become common usage, and you don't protect your brand, people can legally start using your word on their products without your permission

With that said, it would be totally great to see other people refer to the "Chud-munity(c)" every once in a while

BTW: I've seen "CHUD-munication(c)" tossed around lately regarding our banter here on these CHUD boards. I don't mind you folks using it but please be sure to include the copyright symbol when you do.

Other CHUD related words I see you guys using that are my intellectual property:
  • "CHUD-ciety(c)" (much larger than a CHUD-munity(c))
  • "CHUD-ocracy(c)"
  • "CHUD-ruckers(c)" (A film news themed restaraunt)
  • "CHUDsident(c) of CHUDerica(c)" (Nick Nunziata)
  • "MasseCHUDsettes(c)" (Those "CHUD-izens(c)" of New England)
  • "CHUD-weiser(c)" (King of movie news beers)
  • "Thur-CHUD Marshall(c)" (First African American to serve on CHUD's Superior Court)

Again... I've been seeing a lot of you throwing these around without acknowledging that I have created and have a copyright on them. Please use (c) on the end of them from now on. Thank you.

I was not trying to change or surplant Nick's nickname for us. I often use the word "Chewers" on the board

CHUD-munity(c) refers to the community of Chewers on Chud.

No worries. If you'll read my original post on the subject, you'll see I was not trying to force anyone to do anything. I merely stated that people were welcome to use it if they'd like, and that it would give me a kick if they'd do so.

I do understand that it will either enter the popular vernacular around here or it won't, and I have little control over that.

Although I do refer to the Chewer gatherings at my house in the summer as CHUD-B-Q's (Chewer-B-Q is just kind of unwieldy).

CHUD-B-Q is fine because it is a reference to the site, not the people. Chewers attend the CHUD-B-Q. And how come I haven't been invited!!!
