At the end of the serial number on Trijicon's ACOG gun sight, you can read "JN8:12", a reference to the New Testament book of John, Chapter 8, Verse 12, which reads: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." The ACOG is widely used by the U.S. military.
IRONY.

Unfortunately, I doubt that inscription can be viewed in Modern Warfare 2. When you're going about mowing down other Americans as well, in deathmatch. I only say this to further enrich the irony level on display here, pointed as it is at people across the Middle East.

I don't think religious iconography on weaponry is any sort of new development.
Christians twist their own verses to serve their purposes. The vast majority of the US military is christian. Tape at 11:00.
if the US ever develops any practical LSD based weaponry, you bet your ass The Book of Ezekiel will get some kind of reference.

Religious iconography on a gun? Sad.

On a broadsword? Awesome.

Well, and this:

Are these the secret Bible codes that gave Jesus infinite lives?
With the problems with open proselytizing and various self anointed 'holy warriors', the US Army has more important problems than some stupid company putting corny ass Bible references in the serial numbers of their sights.

No that's Romans:UUDDLRLRBAS30

I hate the part where Psycho Pontius makes you plug the Bible into the second controller port. How are you supposed to know to do that?
This is why I am buying an Aimpoint ACOG.

Or how about the people who don't stand back, but instead hold the light-cross right up against the screen. Have some pride.

Uh, why do you think God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah?

Because they were ninja looters.

It's a tiny anecdote. I doubt this issue will prevent the American army from dealing with anything else.

"Haiti, it's really bad there, but the world has worse problems to worry about, like AIDS."

I thought the widely held belief was that they were a certain type of pirates, not ninjas.

I've never understood the gung-ho militarism in modern Christians.

/pretty much pacifist xtian

Also, sodom + gomorrah were camping fags, they deserved it

I hear they are a tons of bugs in Revelations, but they aren't releasing a patch until the return of the messiah.

Don't let the 2 seconds it took me to google that stop you, though, from such a compelling argument.

I'm not trying to advocate anything, I'm just saying that the military actively recruits in religious circles, because religious people fit the archetype they're looking for, so it would make sense that most soldiers (most, not all) are going to be from some form of christianity.

Im having trouble going through "The Book of Ezekiel" myself; anyone know how the hell do you defeat the "wheel within a wheel"?
Huh. I carried that fucking thing around every day for months and I never noticed.. I'm not christian, but that doesn't change the fact that the Trijicon ACOG is a fine product, probably the overall best thing we're issued, and I'd buy one myself if I'm ever in the market for one. So.. *shrug*.

Wikipedia says "Although the ACOG is designed for the Picatinny rail of the M16A4 and M4, it can be mounted on the carrying handles of previous models"
Would you say that's true, SG? im actually curious about that.

You cancel each element out with its opposite (Fire with Water, etc) and then attack the hub when it glows.

It would be awkward, but yes.

I'll be damned, that worked. Also, does anyone know what you're supposed to do on the 7th day of the Genesis chapter? I played taht for 24 hours straight and never got any mission objectives or new quests.

IIRC, the A2 carrying handle has a hole in the middle of it for mounting optics, though for some types you might need a seperate adapter. It's been awhile, but I remember using an ACOG with the A2 once, though this was before the Trijicons were standard issue and it might've been a different model or brand altogether.

Edit: Here you go

I see, thanks, that clears my doubts up a bit.Sounds like the Trjicon ACOG is quite something.

EDIT: Ok, that pic seals the deal. Thanks!

Well, for 1,300 dollars it had better be. Best on the market, I'd wager, so I'm personally willing to overlook some bible verse easter egg.

But does it have shoulder-triggers and a second analog stick?

I thought all the bugs were in Exodus, during the Egypt Plagues part? You know, right after the frogs?

1.Revelation 9:3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

2.Revelation 9:7
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

Dude, the Bible is buggier than a test copy of God of War II.

Yeah, and it needs a lot of playtasting for gameplay's sake; the "bear summoning" power is way too powerful.

But the water walking power cuts loads off your travel time beween zones, until you get Ascension.
