The Rocketeer - Page 2

If Connelly had played Betty, not Jenny, the film would be a classic for all time.

I've always had a soft spot for this movie and Billy Zane's The Phantom. The Rocketeer and Career Opportunities are the two movies where you get see Connelly back when she was still eating. At least we got a decent Blu-Ray of The Phantom.

This was also a beloved film for me. I was 12 in 1991, and I was absolutely amped for the film. I'd seen the poster and trailer in theatres that winter, and I still have the Disney Adventures magazine with Campbell on the cover.

I remember seeing it in a drive-in, and seeing it backed against a starry sky is a fond memory. Now, all I can recall is Connelly, Arkin, the helmet and Horner's score. I'd be first in line for a loaded reissue on DVD, though.

Has anyone gotten the recent reprint of Stevens' work? Is the hardcover version worth it?

Just saw this in HD on the Hallmark Channel of all places, looked the best I have seen since the Drive In, only thing is it was bloody panned and scanned.

Considering Joe Johnston is active again, can we please get Blu with some features Disney?

If Captain America were to become a huge hit for Johnston, I would NOT MIND him having another go at The Rocketeer.

I'm sure we'll see another Rocketeer film. Just not a sequel.

I don't know it'll ever happen, but Johnston has said that he wants to do another one.

Nice piece on the 20th Anniversary celebration here.

Oh, and is anyone else checking out the Rocketeer Adventures comic miniseries? Darwyn Cooke's story in #2 is awesome.
