I had the same issue. A lot of the recent pick-ups have been lower quality. They recently got a bunch of old films from AIP, and they all look pretty terrible.

Hellboy is now up!

It appears that Goon is now up, the hockey movie with Seann William Scott that got surprisingly good reviews. 

 

Having never seen an American Pie movie, I like Seann William Scott a lot. He was great in the little-seen The Promotion with John C. Reilly (sadly not on Instant). I'll be looking forward to this one.

Ha, bendrix, I'm the same way. He's always seemed perfectly fine to me, but that's because I never saw the American Pie movies.

It's a good movie! He's real fun in it, playing a dude what may be...mentally not all there.  It's maybe too crude just for the sake of being too crude, but I really liked Goon.

He's actually great in the American Pie movies too. In fact, he's easily the breakout star. It's especially interesting to watch him in the first one, where he's clearly intended as the asshole jock antagonist, but he's way more likable than the ostensible heroes. The sequels run the character into the ground and make him annoying, but he's still a better actor than everyone else. It's no mystery why Goon didn't star Thomas Ian Nicholas.

I actually like The Rundown because of the great chemistry between Seann William Scott and The Rock.  I've also never have watched any of the American Pie movies; never been interested in them.  I may have to check out Goon!

How about two of the best shows on TV? Justified and Community, seasons 1 & 2.

Yes, the film is so flat, it is hard to understand how it fits into her filmography.

Absolutely agreed.  Just going from (and yes, I'm jumping) Near Dark to Point Break to Strange Days to late-run episodes of "Homicide: Life on the Street" to K:19 to the Hurt Locker... K:19 is definitely the odd one out.

I'm so happy to see Woody Allen's Sleeper up, as well as The Fifth Element, Raising Arizona and Donnie Brasco. Looks like I've got to set aside some serious me time this week.

"Love and Death" and "Radio Days"

 

which are both up now, were only available on disc previously.

I'm watching Radio Days right now.  It's such a sweet little movie.

Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon is up, as is the original, I Spit On Your Grave.  

 

I thought season 7 of Supernatural was also up.  Alas, it's not, the season DVD is available now.  Netflix, such a tease.  

Holy crap, I remember going to the theater to see that.  I'm afraid to watch it again now.

I watched "Battle Beyond the Stars" a few weeks back...that was hard to sit through.  Sybil Danning's tits helped.

I remember Battle Beyond Stars fondly...I think I would watch it again. I missed Starcrash the first time around...tried to watch it last night...(maybe if I was stoned, but I don't really get stoned).
This is really a Help Me Remember..thread question but what was the Star Wars rip off where the villain has the heroine on a big maze of tubes to suck her blood  out with..Galaxina?

Glory indeed. Caught bits and pieces of this on Cable way back in the day. Just watched it with the help of a nice bottle of wine. Mostly I watched Caroline Munro. That woman DEFINES Woman.

Best Defense is up for everyone to not watch.

Hey, today is A League of Their Own's 20th birthday (yes, it's been 20-years).  Just wanted to mention that if anyone's interested, it's streaming.  

Immortals and Conan the Barbarian are up.  If you're interested ;) 

oh man, Conan is BAD.  Turned that shit off after 25 minutes. 

I did the same with both Conan and Immortals, but I plan to revisit Immortals at some point, where as with Conan I'm content to stick with the comics. Looks like Jason Momoa might have been a one hit wonder with Khal Drogo.

Ehh I actually liked Conan.

Momoa is the best thing about the new Conan. Which is still in par with all other Conans except the one good Conan. Apparently, a good Conan movie is practically impossible to make.

It definitely is when Neil Marshall offers his services to direct (and rewrite) your Conan reboot and you say, "No thanks, we'd rather work with Marcus Nispel."

 

How can you hate a film that rip-offs off the novelization of Star Wars.  Not the film, the NOVELIZATION!

 

You mean Faux-nan the Barbarian. Damn, you got my hopes up and everything. I've been hankering for some Milius Conan for weeks, saw this post, got home from work, brought it up, and what do I see staring back at me? That bastardization from last year.

Geezus, dude.  I was just simply and plainly stating a fact that both those films were now on Netflix.  I could have said, "the two piles of shit movies....blah blah blah...."  But I was just trying to be respectful of other people's tastes.  

 

Watch something else.  And while you're at it, open a beer.  Drink it.  Chill. 

 

Yeah.  And I honestly wouldn't mind another Conan movie starring Momoa.  And yeah, directed by Neil Marshall. 

I liked Momoa as Conan.  He just happened to be surrounded by a shit film.  Here's hoping his villainous turn in the Sly-starring, Walter Hill-directed Bullet To The Head is a fun one.

Just watched Tim and Eric's B$M. They really stuck the landing on that one. Some of it was annoying (even for their standards) but I'd guess that was the point. 

 

Tim stealing the janitors son made me laugh so hard I cried. 

 

And where the Hell is Breaking Bad Season 4???

For that matter, where is Walking Dead Season 2?
