Netflix Instant View Heads-Ups - Page 116

Bummed about Lost leaving.  That's one that's stuck around my watchlist for years waiting for a re-watch.

Glad to see the new season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee finally has a release date.  Looking forward to not having to watch a bunch of Acura commercials.

Dare I watch Bad Santa 2 soon?

I liked it.

Catwoman had been re-added to Netflix for like the 5th frickin time. Get it while it's hot.
It’s like the director has some connects with Netflix:

“Paul, just put it up again. Some day it’ll find it’s audience.... some day it’ll have its revenge!”

THIS looks like it could be promising:

Peaky Blinders Season 4 is up.

BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 is now up on Prime.

It looks like No Country For Old Men and The Apartment are now on Filmstruck's Criterion Channel. Future Criterion Blus for both?

The Apartment is our stateside through Arrow as of last month.

I’d kill for a No Country Criterion, but Miller’s Crossing is the Coens that I really want, and maybe the most realistic to get.

If anyone was curious, the four-part documentary series "The Toys That Made Us" is actually pretty good. It's an enjoyable time hearing the creators and heads of companies tell the stories about stuff like GI Joe, the 70s Star Wars toys and He-Man.

MILLER'S CROSSING or FARGO.  Both of those deserve that level of treatment.

Figures.  Amazon had the rental on sale for a buck over Christmas.  I rented it, but hadn't gotten around to watch it yet.

Well the good news is you can watch the hell out of it now.

Also I just watched the Chappelle specials. The first one was solid the second one......fell a little short.

I'd be fine with a lot of the Coens' movies getting on there, save for Ladykillers and Hail, Caesar!

For those in the know: Will Brawl in Cell Block 99 cure me of my distaste for Vince Vaughn? Because I can't stand that guy.

Fargo not only has a great remaster and disc, Shout Factory made a near-identical rerelease as a steelbook.

Yup Fargo got a full 4K remastered blu-ray a couple years back. I would go with the MGM release because Shout's encoding is usually a bit weaker. Compare Arrow's version of Carrie to Shout's, no contest even though it's the same master.

It should. It's not like anything he's done before. I learned to sorta enjoy his attempt at playing tough in True Detective Season 2 but he is on a whole other level in BRAWL.

This. Brawl perfects what True Detective failed to do with Vaughn. A brutal, powerful performance that I hope only leads to similar work.

The past two weeks have exploded my Netflix queue. Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, Bill Nye, The Toys That Made Us, Goon 2, Planet Earth 2, Creep 2, Wormwood, and this Friday will be Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee... so much to watch, so little time.

They're bringing Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee to Netflix? That is awesome.

Holy shit, all of Seinfeld is coming to Netflix, too?! I just found my new series to watch before bed.

I thought Hulu had Seinfeld exclusively for 5 years?

Regardless, Jerry Seinfeld is very good at making shitloads of money.

Yeah, I feel bad for Crackle a bit. They try. (And I like one of their other originals quite a bit.)

Where did you see that Seinfeld is coming to Netflix? I thought the deal only included some exclusive stand-ups and all of the existing and future rights to Comedians in Cars?

Ah shit, I may be wrong. The article I read was a bit misleading -- Seinfeld is apparently developing new content for Netflix.

Has anyone watched the new season of Black Mirror yet?

Came back to the office today, with the intention to get a shitload of work done. And then I notice that Gods of Egypt has popped up on the Finnish Netflix.

Gods, they seem, do laugh when we make plans.

If they laugh like Gerard Butler dialed to 11, it's a glorious thing to witness.

I lamented Netflix losing Lost a few weeks back, but it just popped up on Hulu.  Hulu's been really good at picking up old shows that sat in my Netflix queue for years.

They also added Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. So I know what I'll have on for background noise tomorrow.

The Godfather Trilogy is up for viewing.
I don't remember them ever making a third Godfather movie.

Sophia Coppola does.

Well, GF3's certainly not a great movie, but I still like parts of it (Michael's confession to the priest and his reminiscence of his first wedding dance) and it's worth discussing over what it could have been.

If only Paramount gave Coppola and Puzo more than six weeks to write the script and they tried harder to bring Duvall back...

Garcia and Mantegna are great in it. Once that stuff is over all hope is lost.

Part III is as illegitimate as Vincent Mancini.

That new Dave Chappelle special on Netflix is DA BOMB.  So good.

Of course! I watched it ALL. A few times. I'll probably have it all on again later tonight!

So I guess you saw that Hulu is bringing back Animaniacs? New episodes, I mean.

Yeah, I heard about them bringing back Animaniacs. I loved that show back in the day. One of the things I liked about it was the many movie references and this introduced me to many great films like Goodfellas, Apocalypse Now, etc.

Haha! And he even talks about that. I didn't think he crossed any lines, at all. But then, I'm not easily offended.

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is up. And the episode arrangement is fucking bananas. I have no clue where the new episodes are because this doesn't appear to be organized in a way that isn't utterly arbitrary.

That's a bummer.

I've been looking forward to watching it tonight, because I thought there were supposed to be new episodes. As far as I can tell its just the old stuff.

They also didn't put up the Louis CK episode, which, I dunno, I'd like to watch again out of morbid curiosity.  Its not like Netflix took down CK's specials.

Oh, I remember that episode. Jerry picks up Louis in a 1959 Fiat, and Louis asks if it's okay if he pulls his dick out.

They stop by this small little family-owned coffee shop, and Jerry orders and an espresso. Louis asks if it's okay if he pulls his dick out.

The end of the episode is interesting because they break from cars and check out Louis' boat. They make some cute Jaws jokes. They head out onto the river and Louis asks if it's okay if he pulls his dick out.

Wasn't there also an awkward Acura product placement bit where Louis asks if its okay if he pulls his dick out?
