Lego Harry Potter

I was in Toys R Us a few weeks back, and noticed this is already up for pre-sale, albeit without a specific date. It says end of March/Early April. Amazon UK originally listed it on March 31st, but Amazon doesn't have a release date.

It will cover Years 1-4, which suggests that the other half won't be out until 2011 or maybe even 2012, after the 2nd part of Deathly Hallows is released.

Hopefully this will add something new to the series. The newest Indiana Jones one was a bit different, but didn't seem to hold my son's interest like the other games did. However, he did say he finished all the stuff in the game, so maybe that's why he's moved on.

There's an official website up, although I can't remember the url off the top of my head.

I've been looking forward to this for a while, and will definitely be picking it up for DS. That's right -- 31 year-old man, ladies and gentlemen!

The wife and I love the lego series. Indy 2 wasn't all that great though. I can see lots of potential in Potter however.

So who bought it? My wife and I are about 93% through the game. We've 100%'d all the stories, so now we're searching through Hogwarts trying to find all the secrets, etc. The angles are still frustrating sometimes, and the way they lay out the different versions of the characters is a little weird, but I think it's your usual, fun Lego game. Finding a wizard that knows dark magic is a pain in the ass, though. But once you do, then it seems like every other wizard you get knows dark magic.

Just beware if you try to get Moody. You find him in the classroom with the "?" on the floor to the left of the classroom. You fall through the trap door, and in the basement you find Moody. But to get back up, you're "blown" back up through the trap door, and if you don't hit the "A" button just right, you'll continue to keep falling back through the floor. And if you can't get out, you can't just quit or drop out, because the game will take you right back there when you return to Hogwarts. It took my wife and I 20 minutes to get out. When my son did it (after I warned him not to), he got out on the 2nd try, the little shit.

My wife loves it but I really can't get on with it. I hate the split screen thing it does if you walk away from the other player it just makes things more confusing, and I can't say I'm sold on the game as a whole.

It's a shame because I have loved the series up untill now.

I don't really care about the Harry Potter franchise, and my feeling is there's way too much slogging through the same damn rooms waiting forthe real adventures to start, but apart from that it's cool. Lego games are always the epitome of pick up & play to me.

I 1000'd it after taking a week to knock it down. Voldemort's Bonus Level is fun.

FINALLY 100%'d the game yesterday. We had lost the disc for about 2 months, and happened to find it on Christmas...as we called it, "A Christmas miracle!"

Had to find 4 last characters we were missing that were spread out through Hogwarts, then finished Voldemort's level. We were pissed at first because even though we completed everything, it said we were still at 99.7%. We then realized we had never finished buying all of our red bricks, even though we had found them all.
