I DO have bad taste, and that's okay.

Stuck on You is on right now. I like this movie.

Joe Dirt is actually really funny, and there's a reason why they're going forward with the ill advised animated adventures. A considerable cult has developed over the years.

Night at the Roxbury is also funny, and at no point do I want to murder Chris Kattan during this production. High fucking praise.

That's all I got right now. My stupid comedy weakness.

I own the Ladies Man on DVD..and yes, I find it funny.

NATR. The only Will Ferrilll movie I've ever enjoyed. I watched it when I was in Middle School I think
post #4 of 229
I watch "Kung Pow!" to the end whenever its on cable.
I own Eurotrip.

My highschool history teacher for 9th and 10th grade used to try to make me feel like an idiot for liking Starship Troopers. He would mock me whenever I'd talk about how smart a satire it was.

Now I am on CHUD and know that I was right and he was wrong.
I own and enjoy Not Another Teen Movie (deal with it).

Agreed. People like to bad mouth Steve Oedekerk's stuff, but I can not join in on the hate. Every line from Master Pain/Betty is too damn funny.

"Nyah. Haha. It is EVIL, it is so EVIL. It is a bad, bad plan, which will hurt many... people... who are good. I think it's great that it's so bad."
I'm hoping it was Stockholm Syndrome but after being dragged to see MEET THE SPARTANS I actually found some of it kind of funny. The straight out of left field GTA parody in the end is nuts. As is the constant abuse of Leonidas' kid. Still a terrible, lowest common denominator, movie but it has its moment.

Now I have no respectability whatsoever.

It's one of those movies I kind of like because while it's not very good really, and most jokes fall really flat, the funny parts are REALLY funny. To me anyway.

Same with Pootie Tang and UHF(which is a slightly better movie overall). I don't like them enough to own though, except UHF, of course. Yay for the wheel of fish!

Uh, Pootie Tang and UHF are not guilty pleasures and are indeed scientifically engineered taste barometers.

I really should have called this thread "lowbrow comedies that you enjoy despite the overwhelming hatred of those you sort of respect for their apparent intelligence relayed over the always reliable internet."
I laugh at Airheads far more than any person should.
I have a weak spot for stoner comedies. It's not just that I think How High or Half-Baked are great laughs... ON WEEEEED, I think that at all times.

Also, I'm someone who watches awful crap like Surf Nazis Must Die or A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell, just so I can tell people I've seen a movie with that outrageous name. Then when they ask 'But was it any good?' I reply in all honesty: 'Who cares! It's a movie that's called Surf Nazis Must Die and I've seen it.'
Okay I shouldn't have mentioned UHF, but Pootie Tang is one of the sloppiest movies I've ever seen, and really really not good. But when it's funny, it's hilarious(bowl of milk, silent song, Rock's out of nowhere belt).

Me too. I kind of hate myself for it though so maybe it doesn't fit in here. At least it was only three bucks at a garage sale.

Mine? I really like Event Horizon. It seems to depend on where you go whether this is bad taste but it seems to me that around here I'd seen quite a bit of Event Horizon bashing. Oh well.
Event Horizon is the best movie Paul W Anderson will ever make. It totally falls apart around the halfway point on, but the effective parts are fucking killer. The first half terrifies me, which is very rare.

You are not alone sir that movie is sheer bliss.

Is this where I post about me thinking Crash is an ok movie?

You know, the one that asks "Can we all get along???". I quite liked that one.

Seriously. I don't think it's that bad.
I watched Can't Hardly Wait straight through last night. For the fifth or sixth time. I love the subplot where Seth Green and Lauren Ambrose get locked in the upstairs bathroom.
I watched Shes the Man all the way through and actually laughed at a couple of scenes
post #21 of 229
I own He-Man and She-Ra the secret of the Sword.

I think it's decent as well. Yeah it's drawn in extremely broad strokes, but the performances, dialogue and direction I felt were pretty solid, and some of the storylines were quite effective.

Yeah, I kind of love NATM, enough to abbreviate the title. Also, it introduced me to Chris Evans, to dig for general Chud approval. It's not in the same league as the early ZAZ stuff, but it blows the late era David Zucker shit right out of the water.

The Rudy/Lucas bit kills me.

"Walk it off, Marty."
Peter Dinklage in Underdog made me like it. A LOT. Much thanks goes to my niece's Pediatrician's waiting room on that score.

My bad for listing Crash. I thought this was all around bad taste in movies. Which I have PLENTY of.

Nah, at the time everybody, including myself, were listing comedies. I don't care what is done with the thread. We don't have much time until somebody comes in and tells us were wasting our lives and the CHUD bandwidth with this crap, so get it off your chest.

I've never seen (that) Crash.

Even Horizon is like two or three really good scenes, and a great concept, comepletely fucked up in every possible way.
I laugh with "Mr. Deeds"; I know, but every single moment with Turturro's sneaky butler, the Bowie song in the helicopter, the NFL star getting beat up by his dad (DADDY NO!) and John McEnroe jumping a car are solid gold for me.

I also enjoy "Dracula: Dead and loving it", but then again, im a sucker for Leslie Nielsen (Scary Movie series aside).

What, no love for "Encino Man"?
Ive also watched "Blast from the past" far more times than any human should (two times, on cable); Damn you, Brendan Fraser and crazy cold war Walken.
Now that I think about, Brendan Fraser is responsible for quite some of my bad taste, lowbrow picks here.
However, not even the addition of Alfred Molina could make me watch "Dudley Do Right" to the end.

It is one of the worst movies ever committed to film. This is an objective fact. Pandering, LCD sub-Afterschool Special garbage dressed up with famous actors to make rich people feel better about themselves. Offensive and awful.

I love Son in Law.

I will add to the Encino man love.

I enjoy The Waterboy

Fine, I liked "Street Fighter" when I first saw it; Happy now?
I also enjoyed "Overnight delivery" the first time as well.

We need someone to admit he likes "Van helsing" in order to save this thread.

I love 1986's Transformers: The Movie and still consider Judd Nelson's Hot Rod to be a pimp.

ahem.." Scotty doesn't know....Scotty doesnt know"...Matt Damon??? Yes ..Eurotrip is better than it has any right to be. Own it. Not Another Teen Movie-is really good, might be due to me being a child of the 80's. Own it. No shame in owning them..

I do have "Boa vs Python"..that raises some eyebrows and "wtf were you thinking?"
Inevitable Robot Jox love comment.
I kind of liked "FutureSport"...which was followed by "Bridge of dragons" that very same night.
Damn you, cable tv!
I'll watch Pluto Nash till the cows come home.

Same with Nacho Libre.

Also Kung Pow.

My love for the music of Harry Nilsson makes it impossible to hate this film.

And I never want to live in a world where hating UHF is the standard.
I own Napoleon Dynamite. I still like it.
I remember really liking Not Another Teen Movie in high school but I was much more of a retard back then, so who knows what I'll think of it now.
I'm also a huge fan of Mars Attacks!.
I love Mars Attacks! cow on fire? yes please!
I also love the live action He-Man...I don't know why, I just do.
Predator 2 as well. Hell, yes, I even enjoy it more then the first!
Whichever Scary Movie had Charlie Sheen in it (3?) made me laugh with one scene harder than almost any movie. The single funny scene you ask? Sheen says "The dog's are acting funny", the camera cuts to dogs riding around on circus equipment with clown costumes. I LOST it. That's one of the worst things I can say about myself.

Oh, and Zooey, I love Can't Hardly Wait, but I don't think that should qualify as bad taste. Then again, I love Karate Kid I, II, AND III.

Lastly, what's the over/under for all of us being made fun of for posting in a bad taste thread again?

Please derail this thread with listings of actual objectively good movies. I want the bizarro world made into reality.
Yeah, honestly, I feel like if we're going to do a thread like this, we should do it right. I saw 5 minutes of "Ice Spiders" on Syfy the other night, and had to change the channel. Show me the person on here who loved that movie, and I'll show you someone with remarkably bad taste.

Yeah, this thread will have a short shelf life. It's not a prove you have no taste thread, it's a confessional.
