Lost: Season 6 Discussion Thread

The premiere's just over 24 hours away. Time for a thread.

Join me on Chud's main page every Wednesday afternoon for Back To The Island, where I'll recap and discuss each episode after it airs. Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts.
Great to hear you'll be doing season 6 as well.
I'd never, ever go back to watching live (the commercials really kill the vibe of the show for me and make it feel cheap and manipulative rather than the awesomeness I feel when it's not painfully obvious that "oop, here's the final commercial break... now for the cliffhanger). Therefore, I must download from iTunes, which means waiting until the next day.

It's going to be so fucking hard not reading these until Thursday.
I think Hulu is carrying the show this year so save your money.
Hulu still has brief commercial breaks at all the spots. I just wait until 15 minutes (or 30 if a 2 hour episode) and fast forward with my DVR.

I invited my friend over and tried to watch with him once last season but he wasn't willing to wait that long to start watching the episode.

Ok, last on this because I don't want to derail. I have a 106" screen/HD projector, so... Hulu kind of kills that. Have to find a way to get good HD quality down to the projector.

Shitty thing is, PS3/medialink won't handle fucking iTunes videos. Any advice on this... send me a PM.
30 seconds isn't alot though. Especially when the trade off is free and legal.

You, sir, are made of stronger stuff than me.

Could you tell me in your local time when it will start? (I got it wrong several times...).
I'm happy we will have Jesse on the front page. You have to beat Jensen
post #10 of 7883
I think around March. But not sure.
So excited for the season premiere and Jesse's THUD column. Squeee!

Yup. It's the only way I watch TV.

The S6 thread....

Is ALLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVEEEE!

Thanks, folks. Sincerely. Out of fairness to everyone, please try to keep the thread spoiler-free til the premiere airs.

JENSEN! I'm coming for you!
The waiting is killing me. Really looking forward to your recaps Jesse.
Very happy that you're doing this, JC. Hoping for a killer final season, and no unmarked future episode spoilers in this thread.
It's almost here...it's actually almost here.
I soooo want to watch this at my friend's house like I did last year, with the big get together of a dozen people, but his roommate left and took his 40 inch TV with him, and all they got is this tiny fuzzy box...
I saw the teaser trailer for this season and the quick flashes they showed has gotten me insanely pumped, can't wait to finish this ride.
I can't wait! This is the most excited I've been for a TV show.

I'll be watching live, with commercials breaks and all. It does suck but I've been doing it since episode one, I can't break the tradition now.

Nice to have you doing S6, Jesse. Best Lost analysis, hands down.

Yes, please.
I'll be working every Tuesday night, so thank the gods for DVR and the evaporation of commercials in between sweet, sweet Lost.

Here's to steering clear of any and all spoilers and to an enjoyable season.
So this is it, eh?

I´ve been avoiding Lost threads like a plague in the last weeks due to the massive spoilers out there, but I just wanted to chime in and add to the echo chamber that is Jesse Love.

Take your time, Sir. And knock it out of the park! No doubts here. And according to my sources, Jenses is afraid. Very afraid.

Can´t wait to check back in this thread in the next 24 hours.

Damn you yanks for getting it tonight. I have no idea when it's on in the UK

Friday Sky 1. NOT Sunday anymore.

Work is slow as elderly driving lessons. Anyone doing anything special for the premiere? I'm having folks over.

Question: what are good LOST snacks (other than Dharma Beer and peanut butter)?

There's a lot you could do here. Put out a bowl of Pepperidge Farm goldfish to simulate the Dharma Fish Biscuits. A nice grilled cheese sandwich cut into fours with toothpicks, and of course, a big bucket of some Mr. Clucks (I think they film at a Popeye's).

Boar?

ETA: I'm so glad that I had Mass Effect 2 to distract me this past week or else I'd have been going crazy about this. Still, today is crawling for me.

My future in-laws will be having dinner with us Wednesday to watch it with us (he's a fan, she won't let him DVR it in HD, thus he has to rely on my fiancee and I to get his fix). Nothing special tonight other than just the two of us watching it.

Snacks-- for some reason mango sorbet became a typical comestible for when we watch Lost.

Is it weird that I'm almost looking forward to Jesse's column more than the actual show?

I´d definitely prepare some hot pockets. Just in case.

After all they can come quite handy in the case of creepy intruders.
Getting through work is like swimming upstream through Dharma peanut butter.

Longest. Day. Of the YEAR.
can't fucking wait!

thanks for making the downtime bearable with your terrific write-ups jesse

Getting more and more excited as the premiere approaches. Felt a thrill going up my leg after rewatching the premiere video - ala Chris Matthews after an Obama speech. Though maybe I just suffered a mild stroke.

Typically the thrill goes down the leg

This is starting to remind me of the ol' 'Twin Peaks' gang gather-rounds of yore...
Cherry pie, ice-cream and steaming cups of joe...and 'Peaks' (at least til 1/3 into season two!).

Ahhh, the memories...
It may snow here tonight, if I get off from work the day after the premiere it will truly be a gift from Jacob...or MiB...or whoever the good deity is.
I just realized I've entered the "recap shows give me chills" phase of my fandom. That's probably not healthy.

Enjoy the show everybody!
It just now hit me that LOST starts in about 30 minutes. HOLY SHIT!
Alright, I said I wasn't going to watch this "Last Time On Lost" special, but boy am I gald that I did. I forgot a third of this stuff.

So much to remember. So very much.

24 minutes to go!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

the meds don't seem to be working tonight
post #41 of 7883
3 minutes...3 minutes...see you all during the commercial breaks!
Go!
Dharma shark POV FTW!
Ohhhhh okay.

If the bomb went off in '77, why would there be anything left?
Dharma Shark! Nice.
Haha I was thinking the same thing.

Uh oh, looks like Jack is suffering from House of M syndrome.
Is it strange that I'm comforted by the bad CG in that sequence?
Back to the future!

ETA: How can he be in two places at once?
Hmm. They said there would be a new storytelling structure this season. Don't know if that meant they would abandon the flashback/flashforward structure of old though. The first few eps could be kind of trippy, in a space-time kind of way.
Please don't let Sayid die...he's the best thing in this show.

Definitely alternate timeline going on right now.
