Ha. You're obviously an MMA fan, I can see. No, it's not like real life; you have to use a lot of punishment on him to put him away. Given how Andrei's career has gone the past 2 years or so (losing his last three, and looking bad in all of the losses), maybe he should pursue more acting. Although, it's not like he had to do more here acting-wise than be an emotionless killing machine.

I finally saw this earlier today and I enjoyed it as much as all the people in the B Movie Action thread did. It's pretty great for a DTV; I'd say it looks theatrical quality and I'd love for that kind of movie on the big screen rather than most of the "action" that's presented; you know, the awful quick-editing/shaky-cam garbage that more often than not I detest. I also loved how things were filmed in long takes and you could actually make out the action sequences; novel, huh?

From the high-charged opening all the way to the end I enjoyed it all. Van Damme not killing that one dude, instead letting him jump out the window got a big laugh out of me. Considering the circumstances with the two big leads in the movie, it makes the film all the greater. I didn't mind at all how the movie was paced or when or how the big leads were used. I just enjoyed the ride and I am glad I finally watched it.

I thought the Dolph vs Van Damme may be one of the most impressive brawl fight scenes I've seen in years. They just smash through room after room without stopping. Simply brutal.

It all keeps coming back to the same thing for me. Here's a movie that provided all the great action and satisfaction that was missing from Terminator Salvation. It did so without being pretentious and spending a hell of a lot less money. It's inspiring and people should really start looking to it as an example of the right way to do things.

See also: Blood and Bone. That's how you do an early 90s throwback.

Maybe I'm even more jaded in this summer that has been so disappointing. But the more I think about Regeneration, the more impressive it becomes. The work of John Hyams and Isaac Florentine is really upstaging the big ticket blockbusters in an unexpected way.

I've been more excited to pick up Regeneration and Undisputed III lately than anything Hollywood has cranked out of late.

Of course thats changed now with Inception but thats a good thing.

Undisputed III is glorious. The best DTV I've seen in ages.

Pretty impressive stuff, with a really good performance by Lundgren. I mean, really good.

News you can't use: the douchebag scientist's young assistant was played by Van Damme's son!

Yep! Plus they don't make a big deal out of it but if you look carefully toward the end when Van Damme is going through the compound you can spot his son's dead body in the background at one point.

Which is hilarious.

For a balls-out adrenaline-rush, this flick kicked my ass! Thanks for all the recommendations, B-Action crew! Saw this before WOLVERINE yesterday and it was no contest which one was the victor for the day.

Watched the behind the scenes and I was glad the Peter Hyams (director's Dad and DP) was involved with a quality product again.

Bring on the next one!

Makes CYBORG SOLDIER (plug!) all the more laughable.

Loved it. Needed more Dolph, but that's not their fault as he was only available for a week.

Only gripe was that some of the other Unisols died too easily. I thought they were impervious to injury. I understand that a giant hook through the heart would be enough to finish off a Unisol, and maybe even having your neck broken, but the other two were only stabbed.

This was better than The Expendables for me. Refreshingly brutal and bloody, well shot and choreographed and tightly paced and edited. A damn solid action film.
