Whenever I get bummed out about the current state of Democrats in this country, something like this comes along and puts it all into perspective.

You should still be bummed about Democrats. Think about this way: we're losing debates on public policy to the likes of these people.

Wow. I guess that these polls wouldn´t differ much if you´d ask the Taliban.

Hooray for Bipartisanship!

Fuck that noise. Democrats could shit in their hands and throw it at the moderator, and it still wouldn't excuse the ingrained idiocy and unpleasantness it takes to hold these kinds of views. I'm sick of people talking about the Democrats' problems - them being ineffectual at pushing policy through doesn't excuse a large portion of the American populace buying the crap being peddled by the Right.

I think my favorite is that 3/4 of Republicans think abortion is murder, and about 1/3 think taking the pill is abortion. So that means 25-33 percent of Republicans think birth conrtol is murder.

What would that make pulling out? Manslaughter?
