Carly Fiorna's Attack Ad...

This has to be seen to be believed. It is the most bizarre political attack ad I have ever seen.

Check it out here...

It's also filled with inaccuracies. For instance, it essentially says this guy Campbell is responsible for the deficits in the CA budget. However, CA allows ballot initiatives that create spending items in the budget that have to be followed and these initiatives do no require sources of funding. CA cannot raise revenues to meet those spending initiatives because the legislature is such a mess. In other words, yeah, this sad sack had to write a budget with deficits in it, but he is not responsible for those deficits and it's completely dishonest to suggest that he is. But after seeing this ad, none of that matters. Fiorna is clearly insane.

The compositing is epic in it's badness. What's with all the sheep? Is that a Bible thing?
Awesome. They're even mocking it at National Review and the Weekly Standard. I think the sheep are supposed to be real fiscal conservatives, with Campbell being the fiscal conservative in name only (i.e., wolf in sheep's clothing). FYI for Fiorina: comparing a group of people to sheep is not a complement. But how can you not love an ad that features this:

JVC, I, for one, will never vote for a demonic sheep-man.

Isn't that Shawn from Wallace and Grommit?

Ehhh, I think less Shawn, more this guy:

Wake up! Can't you people see that demonic sheep-men are the way of the future?

Ahhhh! It's Jodie! Ahhhhhhhh!

I, for one, welcome our new demonic sheep-man overlords.

I think what Carly is saying is that WE the Electorate are the sheep. We are being preyed upon by eeeevil RHINOS disguised as red eyed creatures disguised as sheep.

And what do sheep need? A Shepherd! And who can be a good shepherd to us Sheep? Why Carly of course!

I can't think of another political ad that shows the candidate's utter contempt for the voters they are trying to win over.

How come everyone seems to forget how terrible she was as a CEO of HP? They fired her from the company.
That freaking idiot is still around? Almost bringing HP to its knees with her idiotic management wasn't enough? The collective sigh of relief once she got kicked out could be heard all the way to here.
Not to worry. She seems to be down double digits. Hence the Hail Mary Demonic Sheep-Man Ad. Give this ad a few days to sink in and she might be down triple digits.

Not only is entire electorate not voting for her, they're not voting for her TWICE!
Even though I should have changed my party desingation years ago. The best race would be Boxer v. Campbell. Boxer would really have to get out there and earn that vote.

Or just steam roll Campbell yet again.

Such is the power of the Demonic Sheep-Man.

Bingo. I don't understand how she can be such a great leader when she almost ruined HP. She didn't do a single thing right as CEO...so let's make here one of our most important politicans. I'm one of those eeevvvvvill people who likes it when successful business people become politicans. But I despise non-successful businessmen/women who decide to jump ship from the corporate world into politics.
She is running her campaign about as catastrophically as she ran HP.
That ad is way too long. No one's going to stick around to see the Pan-god-satyr-demon.
The Sheepinator!

That ad is 100% awesome in its loopiness.
Remember when she was mentioned about joining McCain's staff?
I hope she joins Sarah Palin's staff. My god, can you imagine the train wreck that campaign would be?
As great as the demonic sheep man is, I think my favorite part is in the first 20 seconds when the one sheep is lifted up on the column, struck by lightning, and spins down to the ground. That was the first indication that the ad is like a parody of campaign ads, but real. Also the narrator is great.

She was on McCain's campaign as an advisor. I mean she was even considered as a running mate.

What's even more shocking is that the repubs who appear to be the party that's pro-business is backing someone who was terrible at running a business.

That was like some weird Terry Gilliam tribute.

He sounds like the non-union equivalent Orson Welles. Another great detail is the photostock models (referred to each time as "we") who are probably embarrassed that their photos were sold to this campaign.

I'm a little surprised she wasn't referred to at the end there as a maverick.

Lucifer the ewe was awesome tho.

Who's the narrator? That guy's awesome.
Another observation: the creators of the ad don't seem to know what fiscal conservatism is.

Doesn't it mean 'No New Taxes - Ever'?

...oh and 'No Old Taxes - Ever'?

In fact doesn't it simply mean 'No Taxes - Ever'?

That's gotta be Robert Davi.

The demonic crawling sheep man gets all the attention but I love the last bit where you almost see the savior for California but not quite. It's like the teaser for Godzilla '96 except lamer.
I was watching this and thought, "I'm surprised I haven't seen Campbell portrayed as the devil yet." And then 2:27 happened. Repubs...

Making balancing the budget and paying down debt a very high priority. This does not preclude taxation.

"Well, the first thing you should probably know is that girls don't poop out of their vagina. I hope that makes things easier and less scary for you."

Actually they can if they have a fistula - corollary: seek medical attention if possible.

Why are they afraid of showing the face of the Outsourceress Supreme?

That's the funniest part of the commercial for me. The Devil Sheep gets all the attention but the fact that Carly isn't front and center is just weird.
Dammit, I wanted a pigs vs sheep battle a la Braveheart.

And those closeups of the sheep chewing away was pretty mesmerizing ...
