This is probably my longest post on CHUD...ever, so bear with me.
I sat through this piece of crap last night. Could quite possibly be one of the worst movies I've seen in long time. Without prattling on about every terrible part, I have to vent about several in particular. Plus, I won't even go into the downright violation of all that is right with this movie's usage of the film legend known as Mr. Combs.
1)Timing. Whoever directed/edited this tripe needs to return to film school 101. Their use of timing was in one word, awful. For instance-and this is just one of many- the main characters are casually introduced, dead people are seen, several lines of dialogue are exchanged, they go visit a few people and then,in virtually the next scene (weeks later for all we know) they're shown partner-like best of chums perchance love interests. No development, nothing. Those transitions or lack thereof, permeate the movie. My wife and I litterally expected one scene to show the two main characters "doe-eyeing" each other, then in the next scene, you'd see their kids running around while they investigate.
2) Accents. Why make the lot of British/foreign actors fake terrible English accents? Wouldn't it have been easier to have just had Stephen Dork fake a British accent?
3) Dialogue. I can some it up in one exchange and I'm paraphrasing here.
Mike: " Sides...We've found the Doctor! I need back-up!"
Sides: " Call the Feds."
Mike: "Blah, Blah, Blah"
Sides: "Oh alright, tell me where to be."
-or-
Mike: "Karen, I'm really losing it here."
Karen: " Mike, just hold on."
Trust me, it doesn't look as bad as it sounds.
There's my 2 cents.
