LA Noire

Until about a week ago this was a PS3 exclusive, seems it's become multiformat now.

It's having the same recorded development trouble that Red Dead Redemption had (not that that is indicative of the overall quality of the game) and it definitely sounds intriguing.

There are no concrete details as of yet, but I've heard (from a fairly decent source) that it's essentially an open world detective game, using a Mass Effect style conversation wheel and covering a game world roughly the size of Liberty City. I know there's some interesting tech behind the game, like the fact they're shooting the actors face on to record EVERY detail of their feature. It's similar to what BioWare did for the Interview segments of each characters trailer for Mass Effect 2, but used in game.

I'm hoping this turns out great, because frankly it looks stunning.

It's the main feature story in the latest issue of Game Informer, which landed in my mailbox on Saturday. Seems to be a bit more linear than the GTA games. The facial technology is VERY impressive -- much closer to filming than animating. They've recorded a staggering number of actors (I forget the exact number) as well.

Shit, sorry guys. My search for Noire turned up a blank. Will post across to that thread.
