Strangeland always felt like it was a modern horror tale told through the filter of the eighties. I don't mean that in a bad way just it likely had a very limited audience.

This is pleasant news. I saw Strangeland for the first time about 5 years ago at the World Horror Con in Phoenix, and Snider was there to talk about the film and censorship and whatnot. Strangeland is an odd film; in some ways it seems like a precursor to modern torture porn, Hendricks is a rather sympathetic character (at least initially post-Howdy), and though many are tortured only one dies (IIRC, and I thought Howdy died at the end but the sequel indicated he did not.)

You could tell Snider was trying to make something beyond the standard psychoslasher fare, and though it's imperfect it's still worthy of respect.

I'm hoping for another mindblowing trip into the hardcore underground world of PIERCINGS and BODYART. Also, more classic lines like "bring on the spears of sheba!!!"

I just bought the dvd last fall at a pawnshop for a two bucks after not having seen it since around '98 or '99, and it's still a great little horror flick that I agree has an 80's vibe to it. Englund playing a demented hillbilly and the apparatus that he was strung from was pretty cool and wince inducing. Looking forward to it.

I agree about the soundtrack but that's about it.

Kevin Gage was doing a stretch upstate, wasn't he? I gotta say, something like that probably makes you a better actor.
