In what other forum should Mayer have apologized? The we-hate-john-mayer-fanclub?

All this vitriol directed at Mayer is hilarious. People seem to confuse talent with friendship...if your friend was a racist douche, then by all means...but Mayer is a musician and celebrity...if you enjoy his talent, leave it at that, because if you knew half the shit your favorite artists were saying on a daily basis, you'd throw out most of your CD and movie collection.
