The recent one-two punch of Nolan superhero articles and threads got me thinking about what's the perfect way to adapt already established comic commodites for movies. as in should the approach be gloom and doom, or should it be light and breezey? In my opinion, it's case by case; and I won't go any further than that because this kind of discussion has been going on since superheroes became the forfront of the comic industry.
BUT I would like to spitball an idea that everyone would agree in being awful: a slavish panel-to-film adaptation of The Dark Knight Strikes Again...without adapting The Dark Knight Returns beforehand, just for the purpose of adding to the "Wrong, oh so wrong" factor.
Here are my cast and crew ideas(WARNING: this is going to be painful):
Director-Alex Cox
Writers- Alex Cox and Tommy Wiseau
Batman-Alan Thick
Superman-Tommy Wiseau
Catgirl-Rumor Willis
Lex Luthor-Daniel Benzali
Wonder Woman-Thora Birch
Captain Marvel-Tommy Wiseau
The Joker-Wes Bentley
The Atom-William Zabka
Green Lantern(Hal Jordan)-JM J. Bullock
Hawkboy-Daryl Sabara
Green Arrow-Willie Nelson
Martian Manhunter- Tommy Wiseau
