Chekov's Boner missing somewhere in Canada - Page 2

I know how the Koenig family feels.

All my sympathies and condolences.

The video of Walter talking about joining the search and finding the body is really fucking sad.

I really didn't think this was going to end well but was hoping I'd be wrong. Unfortunately not. My heart goes out to his loved ones.

I did this not two years ago. If it wasn't for my sister I would be dead right now. I feel nothing but sympathy the the Koening family.

Sad news, my thoughts are with his family.

And I'm truly sorry for my Alameda joke.

Note to all depressives out there: DO NOT PLAY THE JOKER. It will only end badly. Poor guy.

Someone keep an eye on Mark Hamill.

Classy stuff in this thread. Especially the "they found his dead body and yet some people will still make jokes about it".

What if his face had been sewn to a soccer ball?

But the soccer-ball guy wasn't affiliated with a popular podcast. Durrrrrr

This thread should serve as a warning to other actors. Think about your future eulogy when accepting a role with a funny name.

I'm sure the drug dealers family misses him too.
I'm sure of that, but they're most likely dead too.

I never heard of this Koenig until this thread, never heard of the character "Boner". Publicly mourn this guy all you like, but let's not pretend he was a star.

Yeah, CHUD jokes about dead celebrities. We just need better jokes.

Maybe it's because I was checking the boards with my laptop in the bathroom, but this one made me giggle AND shit.

I'm just surprised we handled things better over in the dead whale trainer thread.

No. Nor am I making an "at least be funny" argument. I'm just saying you should be consistent. It's just an odd double standard. I'm not arguing the morality of the line. I don't understand why there's a line at all.

I'm not going to even ask what you did with Jakes other penis.

Probably because I was a mere child when Growing Pains was on, but I don't remember the name Boner being all that scandalous back in the 80s.

Kirk Cameron was so freaking hot, wrapped in a crazy, fundie cloak. Tragic.

I'm rarely laughing at deaths, but the gruesome death of a drugdealer (and if you know anything about what's happening there, it's truly sad, pathetic and insane, and if a guy has his face sewed to a football, he's probably not an innocent) isn't remotely the same as that poor guy's suicide. Sorry.

What about the disabled guy? Nameless Mexican too? What about the non-drug-dealing 16-year-old girl who had just a roller coaster of a day?

To be clear, just so Jackson's head doesn't explode, I don't care whether people are making jokes or not. Some here have been funny, some not. Some in the soccer ball thread were funny, some not. Most in the roller coaster thread were funny. It just makes me curious when people spend time down in the mud and then take somebody else to task for getting dirty.

I don't mean to dump on you. A lot of people around here seem to do it. Probably why I was moved to say something. It just makes me scratch my head.
If you really want some consistancy from posters here, you're clearly over your head.

Maybe I'm not laughing at this because my sister was depressive and tried to kill herself a few years ago. And it's common. Unlike the coaster thing and the soccer ball one.

Same here, Martin.
(Although I cant help think this is going to go the way the thread about the missing english girl went a few years back.)

That's probably it for most of us - we can relate to depression or know someone who struggled with it, or killed themselves. Not as abstract as drug dealer torture or a space shuttle blowing up.

I also personally can't relate to being terrible at jokes, so there's going to be some disparity and friction there.

The fuck, exactly, are you calling me out on? I think it's poor taste for Devin and Princess Kate to laugh at and ridicule the mentally disabled, so that means I'm blowing up? Or are you saying I should care about some random dude who kills himself? Sure, I think it's sad, but I wasn't the Asshole cracking all the jokes after I heard he was dead. And I also wasn't coming in here to make a HUGE FUCKING POINT of saying how sad I was. That kind of fake ass sympathy for somebody you probably never even heard of just as bad. I can empathise (yes, as opposed to sympathise), with this family, because my family has been there as well, so this is indeed a tragedy. But assholes who step just to say, "look at me, I care, too!", you aren't helping much.
Aren't helping what?
The retarded people.
I'm starting to think that not only does Devin have complete apathy towards the mentally handicapped, but actively despises anyone who defends them. Having to wipe that guys ass sure did a number on you, didn't it tiger?

So if the girl had become so distraught after losing her feet (and not being able to fuck guys with a foot fetish) that she killed herself, then it would be sad?

Calm down there, tiger. I was just addressing your previous post by trying to make it clear that I wasn't trying to add to the chorus of self-righteous indignation. I wasn't calling you out on anything.

The internet's such a weird place. Isn't it obvious that weird, outrageous or ironic stories of tragedy and death will always - and always have - elicit a joke? And that more mundane and relateable stories of tragedy and death will elicit a more subdued reaction. It's like if you read that somebody died of a heart attack versus reading that someone was pecked to death by penguins. There's just comedy in one of those.
If the heart attack victim played a guy named "Stiffy" on an 80's sitcom, open mic night is inevitable.

There is an episode of Growing Pains where Mike and Boner are stereo salesmen and are being trained by a guy who is trying to teach them to be rip-off artists. In is a scene where Mike is giving Boner a dressing-down about his appearance he takes him to task over his pocket square, pulling it out only to unfold a pair of tighty-whities. It is an absolutely amazing sight-gag miles better than you'd expect from Growing Pains and completely sold by Koenig. Farther along, brother.

For one or two people, sure. But do the twenty-seven people who follow really think that their variation on the same joke is going to be hilarious?

I'm not making a comment on the quality, or even justifying it, I'm just saying it's expected.
