I envision a total of eleven posts, ten more than probably deserved.

I ended up liking the Death Race remake quite a lot. It's some good popcorn fun. I went in not expecting it to be any good at all, and those low expectations helped. I even bought the blu-ray.

I'm assuming that Danny Trejo is going to play the Robert LaSardo role? Maybe they'll go against type and cast him as the new Coach?

Wouldn't shock me at all if this ends up better than what Anderson coughed up. Cast is fun on paper.

Too bad Universal couldn't have gotten John Hyams or THE TOURNAMENT'S Scott Mann for this. Roel Reiné showed mild competence with PISTOL WHIPPED but I haven't heard much good about MARINE 2.

John Hyams would definitely bring quality to it. If Issac Florentine wasn't too busy, he could have fit it in his schedule and make it action packed. Not to mention using stock actor Scott Adkins in the flick.

I would have figured this would have been a P.J. Pesce film.

Thank Christ it isn't, he has simply not lived up to the potential he showed with SNIPER 3.

Dammit! With Bean in the cast, I'm going to have to watch it now.

I honestly don't know why you guys think John Hyams is top draw. IMHO: US: REGENERATION sucked ass. Though, I concur whole-heartedly w/ Scott Mann.

You're wrong Forsaken. Hyams is the real deal. Put down that haterade and beg his forgiveness.

I'm not a big fan of Regeneration, but the direction was top notch.

With that cast alone it's worth a look.

Yeah, solid cast and hungry director aside, I'm not sure how much they can do to wash away the stink from the remake.
