"Rosa Parks did not move to the front of the bus to support sodomy."

A moment of silence for the state of Minnesota.

Quote:
Barb Davis White, a Tea Party activist and Republican candidate for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, prompted shocked gasps from the packed hearing room when she said, “Rosa Parks did not move to the front of the bus to support sodomy.” Her testimony involved accusations that the movement for marriage equality is hijacking the civil rights movement.
Quote:
White also garnered some laughs from the audience when she said, “Studies also show that the average homosexual has hundreds of sexual partners in his lifetime… and I repeat hundreds.”

“I’m here today to tell you that homosexuality and lesbian behavior is unhealthy,” claiming that gays and lesbians have higher rates of STDs than anyone else in the world, including “gay bowel disease,” an ailment that does not exist and is often used by religious right figures to paint gay men as diseased.
There's another Republican candidate quoted in the article who doesn't come across much better.

Gay bowel disease? Holy fuck.
Yeah, that's just spectacular.

Wow. Please tell me there's video of this.

ETA: I'd like to know how homosexuals manage to get anything else done while having hundreds and hundreds of sexual partners. I mean, I have trouble balancing 50 or 60...

For a laugh, Google "gay bowel disease" and compare the Wikipedia entry with the Conservapedia entry.

Dan Savage did a great write up about how, with homosexuality being a small minority in America, and with anal sex being practiced by a decent-sized portion of the heterosexual population (he cited real and averaged numbers), straight buttfuckers outnumber gay buttfuckers by like 20 to 1.

But them homos is so damn icky.

I was, until today, unaware of Conservapedia's existence. Thank you, sir.

Madame, that doesn't sound like a problem, that sounds like a party.

Also, if Rosa Parks was going to pick anyone in the realm of the living with whom to communicate, I have a feeling that this dolt would be nowhere near the top 1000.

Gay Bowel Disease is so going to become a Punk band name or song.

A double bill with Full Blown A.I.D.S would be the stuff of legend.

I know this from listening to Howard Stern.

Republicans making idiotic comments? What's next? The sun rising from the east?
Wow, that conservative bitch is a real sick whore. Prejudiced, and forces one to picture guys fucking each other in intimate detail. Who would she be without butt fucking? Ew.

This is pretty much par for the course for the GOP and the "Tea Party Activists". Sad.

And the cure for this is to not let them enter in to a legal monogamous relationship. That'll teach those damn sodomites!
Well, to be fair, she didn't. Unless I just got the really, really boring Social Studies textbook in junior high.
When do we get to flip the script and start rounding these assholes up for a lynching party?

Minnesota drives me crazy. On the whole the Twin Cities are pretty middle of the road politically, with a left lean, but there are pockets of fucking psychos. I avoid certain areas of town because of the creepy bumper stickers and aggressive giant truck drivers, which is funny, because in Arizona I avoid certain areas of town because I was afraid I'd be shot.

I dunno, dude. If I was a ghost and someone was being this stupid with my name and legacy I'd haunt the shit out of them.

All joking aside, this stuff makes me want to punt a puppy. Or move.

Pull up to my bumper, baby
In your long black limosine
Pull up to my bumper, baby
And drive it in between

Things Rosa Parks also didn't move to the front of the bus for:

Spider-Man being rebooted
Leno getting The Tonight Show back
Crew members getting in Christian Bale's fucking line of vision

Hey, this woman could be onto something here.

Merriweather, you are redeemed in my eyes. Nice post.

Not completely and totally. I saw something about this a few weeks back (think on History or Discovery or maybe National Geographic Channel), and it was definitely presented as a controversial (to say the least) idea. But truth be told I'd imagine many people just find the idea so unbelievably ridiculous that they laugh it off. Or maybe that's just my own experience coloring my perceptions.

I'd imagine there is a pretty large portion of the population (mostly from the "conservatism is under attack" crowd) who would subscribe to something like this...

Hey, old Willy wasn't talking out of his ass with "The lady doth protest too much" after all.

Edited for Shakespeare quote correction.

Well, Colbert had the guy on his show.
I wonder how White would react if she were told almost every iconic moment in the American Civil Rights Movement was conceptualized and organized by someone who was literally a Commie homo.
So, Mathew 7:1 (Judge not, lest you be judged yourself), and John 8:7 (Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...) are just in there for the shits and giggles, huh?
We should really start a "Anti Gay Rights Republican caught in Gay Activities Catch All Thread"
It happens THAT often.

Faces is, or was anyway, the gay bar in Sacramento. On some level he had to know he was going to get caught eventually.

From the http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative_Bible_Project link:

Accept the Logic of Hell: applying logic with its full force and effect, as in not denying or downplaying the very real existence of Hell or the Devil.

lolololol - Oh i'm frightened alright.

Here in Canada we have the full library of Colbert episodes, I assume comedycentral.com has them in the States. It was a month or two ago. He seriously downplayed just how crazy his ideas were, as a lot of really hardcore Conservatives tend to do when they're being interviewed for a more mainstream or left-leaning audience *cough*HUCKABEE*cough*.
