Anyone else keeping up with Billy Corgan's latest opus? After 'Zeitgeist,' I can't say I blame even diehard SP fans for bailing on any new Pumpkins material.

But I have to admit, at 3 songs in out of 44 planned, I'm stunned that I actually really enjoy Billy's new efforts so far.

It's just weird being excited about Billy's direction for the first time since Zwan's simultaneous arrival/implosion.

I haven't been that interested in much of what Corgan has done in years... but I have to admit I like two of the three new songs. Sounds like he's bailing on the heavy fuzz and forced aggression of what he thinks a pumpkins album should sound like for something a bit more sincere and in tune with what he's feeling musically these days. I'm looking forward to more... which I wasn't expecting.
