The Dead Girl/Live Boy Scandal Thread

I realize, God forbid, that it would be wrong to celebrate actual cases of this, but I thought we could have a decent thread to unify the stupid bullshit that politicians get into, because I read today that Anti-gay California state senator Roy Ashburn (R) was arrested for a DUI after leaving a gay club and I thought this could be a catch-all for all the schaudenfreude that we experience seeing assholes brought low.

Any others out there right now?

Really? this story already showed up in two other, extremely similar, threads.

Hey, shit happens to Democrats too.

What about the national day of protesting cuts in public schools and state university funding? Should that get its own thread? Anyone protesting? I support it. California has been decimated by "trickle down" voodoo economics and tax revolts.

How Roman Catholic. Christ! Even when they're sinning they can't drop the ritual shit.

And from now on, I'm going to use the phrase 'I have a Cuban situation' whenever I want to tell someone I've arranged a surprise for them.

Once more proving the old saying no one hates gays more then gays, Hitler and J. Edgar being past examples of this.

There's some pretty damning evidence against Lady Hoover but Hitler?

Unbelievable commment on the Fox News article about Ashburn:

Quote:
okbound Washington I don't know why all the libtards are on here saying the guy is a hypocrite. If the guy is indeed gay he at least has the common sense to realize his lifestyle is disgusting and immoral and he knows better than to try to use his political power to force his immorality on others. All of the other libtard queers out there should look at him as an example and then see if some therapy might help just the way an alcoholic or drug user would seek such help. It might not work, but at least try, and in the mean time keep your disgusting habits in your queer closets.

I'm pretty sure he thinks that a "gay club" is a support group for repentant homosexuals.

Speaking about the Catholic church....

And this is only the tip of the ice berg. In the two weeks after this article even more horrid things have come to light. Ireland is everywhere I guess.

Damn, are there any pictures out there were Joseph Ratzinger doesn't look like a fucking ghoul?

What a disturbing article! Funny how the church would go to the ends of the earth to accost, torture and burn anyone who didn't bow to their reasoning, yet the speed at which they turn the other cheek when a priest sees fit to consecrate some poor teen's ass can't even be measured by most modern instruments.

I've written off organized religion pretty thoroughly. It has no connection whatsoever to any concept of faith I recognize. And yet, these clowns and their mindlessly indifferent flocks make me feel embarrassed about my faith anyway.

This pic only makes him look like a lecherous creep. It's not ghoulish at all.

And speaking of pictures, your avatar in combination with your text made my day. Long live Vultan!

From the wartime Report:

[t]he belief that Hitler is homosexual has probably developed (a) from the fact that he does show so many feminine characteristics, and (b) from the fact that there were so many homosexuals in the Party during the early days and many continue to occupy important positions. It is probably true that Hitler calls Foerster "Bubi", which is a common nickname employed by homosexuals in addressing their partners.[11]

What I don't get is how these anti-gay Senators actually get INTO these gay bars. I mean, probably not a priority for them, but if I were running a gay bar (and one day I will) I'd have all my bouncers memorize who the anti-gay senators are and not let them in.

Yeah, but how awesome would it be for yours to be the bar smack dab in the midst of a Republican Closet Case Walk of Shame? If anything, I encourage you to -

a) Buy a bar just outside of D.C. and

b) Give it the most homoerotic sounding name possible, thereby forcing the CNN reporter to say it, over and over, with a straight face.

There's one in Calgary called the Man Hole.

"This just in, Republican Senator Manny Homophobe arrested as he was leaving the Man Hole. Film at eleven!"

I always liked Carlin's name: "The Mouthfull". Best name for a Gay bar.

I was going to mention the one in Manhattan with the same name. Always struck me as simultaneously the most polite and most tacky name possible.

It was in the meat packing district, needless to say.

While I'm just as eager as any reasonable person to hang as many of these hypocrites as possible on their own petards, this thing sounds just a little weird. Even sounds like she may have instigated the blackmail route herself. She's lucky this isn't a 70s crime drama or Robert Culp would have put on his murder gloves and made her look 'mugged to death', welshing on a hush money deal and all. We'll probably never know. Not only that, this is real small potatoes. If this is a skeleton in the closet, it's the little plastic one you buy at Spencers.

In the end though, does it really seem like it mattered?:

Garn spoke on last night of the legislative session as a tearful House Speaker Dave Clark and their colleagues looked on.

House members gave him thunderous applause for his honesty and embraced him. As majority leader, Garn was the House's point man on a series of legislative ethics bills this year that were designed to restore the public's faith in the Legislature after recent accusations of bribery.
Nothing shakes the faith of the zealot. That is the problem with these people.

Robinson, who claimed Long engaged in oral sex with him, said the pastor would cite Scripture to justify their relationship.

"We categorically deny the allegations," Art Franklin, Long's spokesman, said in a written statement. "It is very unfortunate that someone has taken this course of action."

Franklin said "our law firm will be able to respond once attorneys have had an opportunity to review the lawsuit."

The men's lawyer, Brenda Joy (B.J.) Bernstein
, would not make them available for comment.
Welp.

Nooo!

Sometimes I think closeted, self hating conservatives are responsible for half the man on man action in the US.

Actually I'd be pretty impressed if he could cite scripture while gobbling his host.

And categorical denials! There's something to retire. I'm sure the last sucker to sincerely deny something categorically was in the nineteenth fuckin' century.

Also: "Pastor plans news conference." Anyone else tired of seeing this?

Honest question, not just to Ratty but anyone whose first knowledge of the story came from that link above. When the picture popped up above the article, were you surprised that the pastor was black?

I was. And I've been mulling over just why and what that means for half an hour now.
I did the same but I think it's just mostly due to the fact that most uptight, judgemental Christian white guys are dickthirsty

Racist! It's wrong to assume that only white people can be self-loathing hypocritical douchebags.

But I can see why you would assume that to be the case :-)
