Why not boycott the upcoming Spiderman films?

Thread Starter
Most folks here, and all over the internet and sci-fi/comic....hell, general movie going world, liked Spiderman 1, 2, 3. (Most nerds hated number 3, but saw it anyway.)

We waited years to finally see the Lizard story come to the screens.
WE loved Sam Raimi, enjoyed Drag Me To Hell, and couldn't wait to see what he would do for Spiderman 4.

Many folks were pissed that he was kicked off the Spiderman franchise, along with his entire crew, because many said they'd only do Spiderman with Sam Raimi.

So the studio is re-doing Spiderman.

Again.

His origin has been told in the comics, cartoons, TV series, and films.
Now we have to watch it...again.
Devin ranted and questioned if we would have to tolerate a new Spiderman origin story every 10 years.

Everyone's so pissed......but everyone will also...go see the new movies!
The studio...could care less what a bunch of internet nerds say...if they will go see the movie anyway. The suits look at the profits.
As James Cameron so egotistically said in a recent interview - these nerds, who watch my movie 14 times, say they hate it. (And he gets a fatter paycheck ever time....Like he gives a shit that they hate it, after paying for it 14 times. That's a point internet criticism can't counter.)

So why doesn't the entire internet movie/nerd/super hero loving community simply BOYCOTT the new movies, to show that we don't want a tweeny-ass, re-do-AGAIN of a movie we just saw, to cash in on the Twilight crowd?

So you've seen the new movie and know that this is the direction it's gone in? Tell us more.

Nice Fleedian use of ellipses, by the way.

I love crazy first-time posters.

Because internet chest beating never translates to productive out there in the real world, where the sunlight and vaginas live.

Ask an honest question...

You know what would be better than boycotting a fucking Spider-Man movie? Finding an actual cause to devote your time and energy to.

I'm for boycotting this thread.

Yet you failed.

We will assault the theaters that play the film, Dale. We will synchronize our watches and pull the plug on these damn hateful movie makers. If we get in trouble, we will make the sound of a dying giraffe. La Revolution lives on.

But... but, how would he know? How would he know if you're not there if he wasn't there himself. How would you know he's not there if you're not there?

This thread has hidden depths - I forsee a galactic paradox...

Is having no interest in the reboot the same thing as boycotting it?

A mythical green box for you, sir. And I'm completely stealing that line.

And we may get a cast/director that don't see doing them as a burden.
