Gavin and Stacey

A sitcom done right, some interesting charaters who both embrace and blow out of the water regional stereotypes. As someone who has inlaws from both Wales and Essex I love this show for what it pulls off.

Rob Brydon is (for me) the best thing in it. Forget Smithy and Nessa I would quite happly sit through half an hour of Bryn alone. If you havn't seen it check out Brydon explaning the internet to Gavin it's one of the funniest scenes I have seen on a TV show in a while.

Anyone else got any thoughts on it?

That's Smithy both he and Nessa (the goth welsh girl) are the writers of the show.

I still think Brydon is the MVP on the show though everything he says is gold.

Brydon is astonishing: one of my favorite movie moments of recent years is the "outtake" at the end of Tristram Shandy where he and Coogan throw down with dueling Al Pacino impressions.

And how does one possibly describe his small man in a box impression?

Yeah, Brydon is great (from Tristram Shandy see also his Roger Moore, and his Coogan AS Alan Partridge). I would pay real money to see Brydon, Coogan, and Peter Serafinowicz do a mexican standoff with three rival impressions of the same American celebrity of their choosing.
