Wristcutters: A Love Story

Turgid piece of shit. Worst ending, annoying characters, and a promising beginning that only lets you down. Anyone else suffer through this? Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous) plays a young guy who offed himself after his girlfriend cheated on him, and he finds himself in purgatory - when he finds out his girlfriend killed herself as well, he goes looking for her throughout purgatory. It's a chore to reiterate the plot of this movie, I just wanted to complain about it, set up a support group of those who've endured this sloppy mess. That ending made me want to kill myself, and when Shannon Sossamon tries to do a 'cute smile' to our hero, she only looks as if her character has developed a large overbite. I'm going to shut up now...just stay away from this one, please, it's crap.

I remember enjoying it quite a bit. It didn't stick with me, but I'm a sucker for imaginative afterlife scenarios. Not without its flaws, but it didn't sink it, in my opinion.

Also, as a new DVD reviewer, have to give traffic to the CHUD review/thread.

I liked it very much, having expected absolutely nothing.

Damn. Now I just feel mean.

Meh, it's certainly emo, I can easily see how someone could really hate it, especially if they'd been told it was great.

I actually love this movie.

Didn't love it as much as the friends who recommended it to me did but it was a good enough film.

Put me in the camp that liked this. It's not great, it takes the easy out, but it's pretty enjoyable nonetheless. Also Tom Waits.
