Hey fiends, need ya to do me a favor. Check your shelves. Your closets. Under your beds. If you used to tape HBO's 'Tales from the Crypt' series listen up...

I'm looking for a particular episode entitled 'Only Skin Deep' directed by William Malone. It aired on the Sci-Fi Channel about a month or two back then, apparently, I missed it last week. Anyhow, I'm looking for it. Uncut, just the way HBO aired it. If you have a copy, e-mail me at ryan@creature-corner.com

Well, he's pretty sure he has it, on a blank tape full of the first two seasons, it's the one with the woman who wears a "mask" right? Picks up a gent at a Halloween party? We shall take a looksie, unless Chainsaw beats us to BB.

I have a copy of this on tape directly from HBO. I'll have to dig for it. But I know it's there. This is the one with Lea Thompson correct?

I'll dig it up this evening and copy it for you.

Yeah, it was Lea Thompson. She's a smack talking whore who wants to hook up with the blond pretty boy rich guy she always see. So she goes to sell some stollen shit at a pawn shop and the wacky owner offers to buy her beauty. Like a nitwit, she does.

She nails and marries the playboy only to begin turning into a California Raisin. Hijinx ensue.

Dude, Ryan...like everyone else I might have this as many moons ago as a young yard monster I was quite obsessed with The Thompson...before I saw Stacy Haiduk anyway.

Point is I know this ep and there isn't anything in it except for some bad attempts as using foul language by Thompson.

It might be out on DVD...

Well it's at least out on VHS. Amazon has it for $9.94.

There were 2 different TFTC episodes- one called "Only Skin Deep", and another totally different one called "Only Sin Deep". I'm not 100% sure but I think the last one is the Lea Thompson one.

TFTC is looooooooong overdue the DVD treatment. They could have all kinds of special extras considering the sheer volume of Hollywood talent that were involved at one time or another... anyone remember The Ventriloquist's Dummy, Three's a Crowd, or The Secret? ("I have a secret, too... AND MINE'S BETTER THAN YOURS!")

HEY GANG...

Thanks for all the help and yes, there is a bit of confusion.

There are two similar sounding episodes. The Lea Thompson one is entitled "Only Sin Deep" and the one I'm looking for is "ONLY SKIN DEEP" which does indeed feature a gal with a fucked-up looking mask who picks up a one-night stand at a Halloween party.

That's the one I'm searching for.
