Thanks for this interview. It was fresh to actually hear someone at Disney criticize the rut they got stuck in. The documentary sounds fantastic. I had no idea it existed. I'll definitely be looking for it at the end of the month.

I've been waiting years for a doc like this to appear so I'm grateful that it has and that it's really good.

Watched this last night.  The film deals more with the corporate culture of Disney animation, and the relationships between Disney commerce and Disney art.  I would have liked to have learned a little more about the processes in making some of these movies (we see a nice amount of attention paid to the work behind The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, but very little of The Lion King, Great Mouse Detective, and Rescuers Down Under, and even less of Aladdin).  All in all, a very interesting look at the process of how art and commerce were balanced during those years, and how that balance contributed to making some really great movies.
