It's the middle of March, and we're going to be getting into summer movie season soon. I've also found that these threads are really helpful to see where people's heads are, to see what the more knowledgable Chewers who see everything are hot about (I personally always dig Kirby's top 10), and to keep tabs on stuff throughout the year.

That's pretty much where I'm at, too.

Rath, isn't A Prophet technically a 2009 release? Can't wait to see it, checking it out on Friday.

It came out in Europe in 2009, enough to qualify for an Oscar bid, but was released theatrically here this year. There are a couple of movies that played the festival circuit like that on my list (Red Riding is another), but since those films didn't get theatrical releases until this year, I'm counting them.

2. Shutter Island
3. Green Zone

I also saw The Wolfman and The Crazies, but I don't think they'll be making any best-of lists this year. I could easily see Kick-Ass, Shutter Island and Green Zone staying around the whole year. Three great films for very different reasons.

Really looking forward to A Prophet, too.
