I just sharted my pants. Awesome!

And Nathan will get awesome stuff he'll like( I hope...).

Poor Rath, I already pity you and I have only worked out my first 3 songs. I'm aiming for about 20 in total as I think thats enough pain for anyone to take.
Rath, make it as poppy and over-the-top as you want. I'll eat it up like a sick little puppy.

Mattioli, I'm still brainstorming some ideas in my head. A rough draft so to speak. I want your mix to have lots of energy. The E.N.D. II?
I'm tempted to just go to the music forums on Stormfront.org and pick from there.

May my children forgive me.

Just curious: are most of us going to upload mp3s for the recipient to download? If so, it might be kinda fun to make all of our shitlists available to everyone for downloading at some point.
I prefer sending a CD, but anyone who wants to share my atrocity is welcome to ask.

I'm planning to do a CD 'cuz I'm old school like that (also, I don't know how to upload a playlist onto the interwebz). I'd be happy to share the playlist, however.
I've done the last couple of mixes via the interwebs, so I'd be down for that. However, I know Devin has frowned on file sharing via CHUD.

It would probably be easier to do playlists for overseas folks. And sure, if those doing playlists want to post them here for everyone to share, that's fine, but let's hold off on that until after all the exchanges have been done.

EDIT: Hmm, Rath has a good point, even if I think posting music playlists posted on legit sharing sites is a far cry from linking to movie and TV torrents. But just to be safe, we should probably stick to PMs or email for those who want to sample others mixes.
Ordinarily, I see no problem posting playlists before the CD arrives, but in this years case, the surprise is damn near everything. I'd advise against it.
Maybe posting of playlists should be done by the recipient (assuming they survive).
I drew Spike and I'm curious about the playlist posting thing. Are you guys literally talking about uploading songs? And if so, how do you do that? (I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this shit).

If I can't actualy give Spike the tunes, I might just pony up and send him a CD. With a mix like this, the idea is to send him things that are fairly obscure (why would anyone want this shit?)

Thanks in advance.
I'm assuming I'll send the songs via Megaupload or something like that.

Easiest way is to put your songs into a folder, with an M3U file for the playlist, and just host them via. www.megaupload.com which is free and stable.
I sent a CD last time even though it was overseas, I quite like making them.

We can always post our playlists in this thread once we know the other person has them.

Spike just responded.

OK, thanks.

Look out, Jake!

I'm actually scared about Jeb sending me stuff. When you know that much about music, you know how to make it hurt.
Dammit, why did I have to get Parker he's gonna fast-forward through the whole thing like "heard this, yeah, heard this, yeah, that too"
I'll probably send mine as a CD, mostly because I already have the album artwork made up, but I'll do a megaupload/mediafire post as well in case anyone else wants a listen.
Any room for one more? I just stumbled across this and I'm sure there's someone begging to hear a bunch of grindcore and sludge. And bad covers. And Disney pop.
Whomever has Jake should make sure to punish him severely because that freakin' Hank Hill avatar is haunting me.

C'mon Jake, man up. Besides, I think that's an insult since this is all supposed to be bad shit. F U!

I got him. He'll pay, my friend, he'll pay.

ETA: I'll give you a hint: One song will be from the seventies and sung by Big Nose and the Rarely Seen Male Camel Toe

We started a little early because the sign-ups had dwindled down to nothing and I didn't want to lose momentum.

Let's toss you in with the other two guys:

radical friends sends to Jesse Temple

Jesse Temple sends to Phil

Phil sends to radical friends
I'm curious to see how many of you throw top 40 pop songs on your mixes that are actually good, and you're just too old to know better.

Although the guy who says he's making an all-Steinman mix? You are my mortal enemy, sir. How dare you. How dare you, sir.
I will admit theres stuff in my mix I love but know damn well others wont. Which ones, Im not sure i want to divulge.
It's okay, Justin. You can say you like Justin Bieber. It doesn't make you any less of a man.
OK,I do feel a little better due to fact that I had to look up who the fuck Justin Bieber is.
The concept of making a mix of "bad songs" is a bit of an oxymoron. I mean, if I'm purposely singling out certain songs, it must be because they've had some impact or influence on me, no matter how small, or *gasp*, they're songs that I enjoy listening to. And, thus far, all of the tunes that are on my rough mix I actually like. The guilty-pleasure association is probably more apt in my case, though I realize anyone here might have no issue using the word "bad" to describe some foundation of my mix, if not every nook and cranny.

I guess that's what makes this whole exchange fun. The line between good and outright bad becomes blurred and controversial very quickly.

Well, that's not the kind of talk I'd expect from someone with his own appreciation thread. For shame!

Abed, if you read Dickson's original post, that's the whole point. Your mix should be songs that for whatever reason--insanely annoying yet catchy hook, self-punishment, dirty secret pleasure, etc.--you find yourself helplessly drawn to. What the mix shouldn't be is a mere collection of songs that you think infinitely suck.

There goes my plan for my Celine Dion megamix.

Although I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to that, as long as we're talking about epic levels of suck.

Mine's going to leave hickeys.

Too easy, Martin, try Mitsou.

Mitsou is Hellon Earth, but we have worse.

(How the fuck do you know that?)

For what it's worth, I'll be going for the mix equivalent of that chubby girl you got drunk and hooked up with freshman year. The sex was fantastic and she made you chocolate chip waffles the next morning, but you were too cool to admit it to anyone what a great time you had.

Message to whomever it may concern: if in a few weeks you come across a mumbling, drooling submoron who fouls up the boards with inane comments that have no relation to whatever's been debated or anything else going on in the world as we know it: be gentle with him. It will be Judas Booth, after being subjected to my abomin-a-thon mixtape

Cringe-inducing audio is a science, and I've got it down pat. Booth, the days of your impeccable musical tastes are OVER!
