The Dead Weather - Sea of Cowards

Rumored release date is "coming soon." First single 'Die By the Drop' might hit this coming Tuesday.

I thought their debut would strike more of a chord than it did. It was the freshest album Jack White was involved with since the early days of The White Stripes. Love it from beginning to end.

I thought Horehound was great too. Really looking forward to the next one.

'Die By The Drop'.

Fuzz-tuckin'-tastic. And loud.

The trailer for the actual video.

Isn't every second album called the "sophomore" effort? Thoroughly enjoy the new song.

When I went to the site for Jack's record label, I discovered not only does he have new music from one of the guys that used to be in Flat Duo Jets, but he's got a new single by Wanda Jackson! Covering Amy Winehouse, with "Shakin' All Over" on the b-side.

This link was the only good news today, many thanks.

Weird prediction...if Jack devoted some time to Electronica it would be huge. Bring him together with James Murphy.

Pitchfork is dead on.

Starting at 1 p.m. Eastern time, for the next 24 hours, you can watch and listen to a Ustream live camera feed of Sea of Cowards being played on an old-fashioned record player. So anachronistic it hurts. According to a press release, the broadcast "will feature surprise guest DJs," so you might have to tune in the whole day (and night) if you want to see Jack put the needle down.

In other Dead Weather streaming video news, the crew are set to play Sea of Cowards live in its entirety at Third Man headquarters in Nashville this Monday, May 3, at 6 p.m. EST. You'll be able to watch the performance on MySpace.

I've listened to it a few times as I have it on while I'm doing work and I think it really kicks ass. I might like it more than their first album.
