Chargers Wide Receiver Axed for Bieber Tweet?

I know sports like I know astrophysics so I'm only posting this very slight story from the Advocate because it amuses me:

A wide receiver who was released from the San Diego Chargers Monday is rumored to have been cut for a remark he made about 16-year-old singer Justin Bieber on Twitter.

Demetrius Byrd, who is still recovering from a car accident a year ago, wrote on Twitter on Monday, "Hey twitt fam is it gay to like justin bieber? Cuz I'm not gay but I'm feelin dat baby sng dat shit rockin right now on my cd also." Hours later, he was released from the team.

Rumors flew concerning whether he was released due to his tweets, but Byrd went back on to his account to dispel the speculation.

"TO ALL U PPL WHO THINK I GOT CUT CUZ OF THAT TWEET F--- YALL I'M PISSED," he wrote, in addition to thanking the Chargers for drafting him.

Byrd was rendered unable to play after a car accident in Miami last year, and he spent his first season in the NFL on the bench.

He plans to go back to Louisiana State University to finish his last few credits to graduate.

Fucking Twitter. Jesus.

If that were the case, Ochocinco would have been cut a while ago for his Twitter comment where he compared MJ and Farrah Fawcett's deaths to 9/11.

Nothing about that mentions "teh gay," though. You know, you don't want those people with you in the showers. You might catch something. Like literacy ... or an adult understanding of the world in which you live.

Ok now, who the fuck is Justin Bieber? Why is he a tweeter trending topic every single day. Why is Conan his nemesis. What the fuck is wrong with you people?

The guy was a 7th round pick who didn't play at all his rookie season due to injury. I don't think his release is tweet-related.

Bieber is just another in a very long line of tenny bopper singers. He's some guy that replaced The Jonas Brothers.
