Jamie Oliver´s Food Revolution

Given the dedication to food on these forums there has to be someone has seen this new show.

Trailer here.

Jamie Oliver is a very common name over here in Europe, I don´t know about the states though. In this new show he wnt to Huntington, apparently the most unhealthy city of the states according to statistics, and tried to plant a healthy seed of conscience there. But judging by the trailer, this job ain´t easy.
Given all the debate about health care this could be interesting for this debate from another point of view as well I guess.

Anyone seen this? Any thoughts?

Please, United States, keep him forever. Please.

Saw the preview earlier this week. Those fat Southerners eat processed, fatty foods and that's the way they likes 'em.

I watched the preview as well. I live in the South, and can attest to our poor eating choices. It can be a bit healthier from region to region, depending on which state in the South you live, and the amount / degree of transplants who have helped shaped the eating choices. With that said, I think what aired was fairly accurate for attitudes / beliefs in a Southern town. Sigh.

The lunch ladies scared me. And scared him.

More importantly, where did he get the Blue Thunder hat? I love that movie.

As an Englishman I have to say, "I'm sorry, I'm so very sorry".

Spike, looking back on some of my childhood food choices I had to endure, I thank you for your apology.

Haha, he apparently really isn´t that loved in GB as rumor has it. Severe case of overexposure? I am curious about the snark thrown at him.

Over here he is pretty much in the shadow of our home grown kitchen terrorists and I barely catch him on Sunday afternoons while being to hangover to reach the remote. But he sells books like Dan Brown for what it is worth.

I'd like to know more about the snark as well.

I caught the first hour of the show and found it worth watching for the culture clashing and the stubbornness of the Huntington folk. I think I'll keep watching.

Didn't he try something like this in Canada. How did that go?
