<hangs head> It's true. I do check the main thread, although that may not be enough to satisfy the bloodlust of my fellow Chewers.

I was thinking of getting another external HD. I'll price-check those out this week.

For the illegal music.
define illegal.
The music that is in the folder labeled "Illegal Music", of course.
for some reason my filenames got all fucked up and the folder was sandwiched between "pictures guro furry porn" and "photos kids in the neighborhood" go figure right that's not even properly alphabetized i'm kinda glad it's all gone along with all that awful illegal music

I keep mine on a disc that's always in my computer in a folder next to all my gay porn.

Got the same virus pop-up this morning:

1. Logged into www.chud.com/articles
2. A pop-up immediately appeared stating that my system may have a virus...would I like to scan now (same exact pop-up as before that infected my computer with the FakeAV virus).
3. Closed all windows using Alt-F4.

I had no other explorer windows open at all.

Same thing happened to me, fwiw.

Same here. And I'm at work. Behind corporate AV software. And using a proxy to access the site.

IP address of the fake AV scan was 194.8.250.76, btw.
Same here, but it's probably our problem, not CHUD's.

I seriously don't get why nothing was done to resolve this problem before. And to make it worse, saying it's our problem if this site attacks our computers because "we don't have a good anti-virus/spyware".
Yeah, same thing happening here.
I got hit with it last week. First time I've ever had a problem so it must be a doozy. It fucked up my work computer something fierce.
Well it's your fucking fault, Doug, This site is designed to test your defenses. YOU FAILED.

I've gotten wrecked here twice since January.

That's what I tell all my angry co-workers who can't open Twitter, WordPress, Blogger, etc. anymore. After IT saved my computer they laid a Websense smackdown on the entire building. Now half the ads here are blocked, ironically enough.

Doesn't this mean your password's getting changed?

....
I have no idea what you're asking.
Rob mentionned the block and ad last year, and got "banned", only then got his password "changed" because he mentionned it as a temporary solution to someone who got attacked. Like now.

I just bought a dozen netbooks. One gets infected, I just throw it away and start in on a new one.
I'm changing my password to Firefox.

If you could keep the unfunny snark to your other shitty message board it would be appreciated.

This thread should be for people to report what issues they're having. Please tell us, in the best detail you can, what your problems are. Other posts will be considered trolling.

We've been in touch with Gorilla Nation and they have disabled one set of ads. If the malware continues to be a problem, please notify us here.

Again, further posts that are not specific reports about problems will be considered trolling.

I got hit last week as well. First time ever.
Cost me 100$ to repair the pc and had to do a clean format. This is some nasty shit.

This quote is SO good though.

I got this early this morning at work, but I was logged on to chud.com/forum

It was the only website that I was on, and as soon as I got the popup, I did not click anything, not even the x tabs to close any windows or the popup box. I also did not use alt+F4 to close everything. Instead I went to task manager and ended my IE task. Didn't have any more problems after this one occurrence.
Please only report problems that occur AFTER my last post. Like I said, we've been in touch with Gorilla Nation and they disabled some of our ads. We now need to see if this problem continues after the ads were disabled.
You're doing a heckuva job, Butter Tits.
Is saying "we're sorry our site infected your PC" so fucking hard to say?

It's been 4 pages, and nothing was done before, so the snark is well deserved with a "no Ad-Block" attitude combined with a "fuck off if our ads are infected your computer" message. Show some damned decency for a bit. Apologizing for infecting computers is the least you could do, not giving people shit about it and ignoring a problem that is many months old.

Doug got banned?
