Genre blends that boggle the mind

This is a thread dedicated to all the artists who aren't Mike Patton who come up with amalgamations of musical styles that beggar belief - mixing jazz and funk like Screaming Headless Torsos makes sense and works, Dalek blending noise and hip hop is understandable when you think about it, but mixing happy hardcore and black metal?

Who even thinks to do that? Maybe the front-man being Chris Jericho's evil Russian twin factors into it but otherwise I'm baffled. And yet... it still entertains the hell out of me.

Danger Mouse's Grey Album.

You know, the one where Jay Z's Black album and The Beatles White Album are seemlessly woven together. It's been a minute since I listened to it, but I think that's what you're talking about, right?

Kind of, but if I recall that actually kind of worked - I was thinking of more misguided blends that don't really work but entertain nonetheless.

Also, I always thought that album would've been way better if it were flipped - have the Beatles singing over Jay-Z beats. Now that'd be something.

I think most any odd blend can be pulled off. Even happy hardcore and Metal.

That Xe-NONE band fails miserably.
