They pop up in the "Now Talking" bar, are inaccessible (to me, anyway), don't appear in any forum listing, and can't be searched for.

What are these?

These threads are for the DVD reviewers. When new DVDs come in to be reviewed, each reviewer 'claims' a few of them.

DVD Admin section. For some reason, they keep updating to the front bar. I just did a sweep of updating the reviewers' materials.

Ah, okay. I figured it was an Admin thing but the way they kept showing up in the general forum bar was really throwing me off.

The truth is so boring. I always liked to imagine there was a secret forum in here somewhere that gives specific members an outlet for their outrageous statements of fact.

First thing I thought of when I originally spied one of these - "Wow, what kind of bullshit was so-and-so spouting to deserve a thread solely devoted to calling them out on it? The boards must be getting really catty again."

Every board or listserv or online group I've ever participated in has had some sort of "Star Chamber" secret board (I think a couple even called it a "star chamber"). Don't take it personally.

They are also, in my experience, ALWAYS the most dull and boring parts of whichever forum.
