And Blizzard offers World of Warcraft players the Equipment Potency EquivalncE Number.

Gordon Brown's new election strategy, via The Guardian.

Anyone see one about Deathly Hollows being split into three movies? A friend nearly had a heart attack over that one.

Wikipedia also went funny with its front page.

Rather liked the time warp joke and the poke at the LHC failure at destroying reality.

The Playboy Morning Show on Sirius XM is now "Straight Talk", and they just got finished interviewing an author about Asperger's, and they're saying they're on Channel 99, not Playboy Radio. Several people have already called saying they hate the new format, not realizing it's April 1st.

In sports, there's a Miami sports talk station running with the "story" that Ronnie Brown has been traded to the Patriots for New Englands 2nd round pick.

And it looks like Al Davis has found his next draft pick.

Holy crap would I buy a Dharma Initiative Alarm Clock.

Woot has its items set up in a Choose-Your-Own Adventure theme. Each item features part of a CYOA story in the description, with the item included as part of the tale. You get to decide where to go next and it leads you to their next sale item. But, you have to have an account and be logged in to "play".

They have a page where you can make suggestions as to what items you'd like to see made for real. The Taun Taun sleeping bag from a couple of years ago came into being that way.

April 1, 2010 – 2K Games announced today a new game mode in Sid Meier’s Civilization® V, the upcoming turn-based strategy game from Firaxis Games. Should normal diplomacy or military might fail to resolve conflicts between empires, Extreme Diplomacy would allow two world leaders to enter a death match and fight to the finish, using special attacks and finishing moves. Two world leaders enter; one world leader leaves. The victor will obtain complete control of the challenger’s world empire.

An Uber Edition of Sid Meier’s Civilization V will include an optional eight-button joystick to bring the classic fighting arcade game feel to these Extreme Diplomacy battles. Additionally, each world leader will have unique special attacks and finishing moves, including:

· George Washington’s Uncle Slam Attack
· Oda Nobunaga’s Tsunami Train Attack
· Otto von Bismarck’s Hurricane Helmet Spike Attack
· Ramesses II’s Phalanx of the Leopard Army
· Montezuma’s Revenge of the Aztec Army
· Napoleon’s Complex Military Strike

In addition to the introduction of hexagon tiles allowing for deeper strategy, more realistic gameplay and stunning organic landscapes for players to explore as they expand their empire, Extreme Diplomacy gives Sid Meier’s Civilization V players yet another way to take over empires and conquer the world.

For more information on Sid Meier’s Civilization V for Windows PC, or on how to school fools in a bitter mano-a-mano duel to the death, please visit www.civilization.com.

Ok, I got one put over on me. I emailed a link a bit to Devin when one of the Roseanne writers noted that he had been contacted about a Roseanne movie. But, in my defense, I could totally see Hollywood trying that out.

The VHS reviews are pretty great, and I don't normally like Deja-vu humor.

SEATTLE, Washington and DUBLIN, Ireland – April 1, 2010 — PopCap Games, maker of some of the world’s most popular video games, today announced a new celebrity edition of its flagship franchise Bejeweled®. Available only in a limited edition retail box crafted from cubic zirconia and sold only at PopCap.com, Celebrity Bejeweled replaces the traditional gem pieces with holographic likenesses of gem-named superstars from popular film, television, music and sports. Further, the special collector's edition package includes actual genetic samples of featured celebrities, for use in home chemistry experiments, various forms of extortion and/or sale on eBay. Celebrity Bejeweled carries a suggested retail price of US$2000. (Due to live DNA samples, this product requires hand-delivery to addresses in Kentucky, Michigan and the less lenient counties of Arkansas. Further, some copies may contain trace amounts of Alec Baldwin spliced with Lady Gaga.)

Dozens of celebrities were considered for inclusion in the new game, with the following receiving the ultimate honor of their respective careers: musicians Neil Diamond, Jewel and Crystal Gayle; renowned artist Jasper Johns; and action movie star and former big-time wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Singer Pearl Bailey and NBA Hall of Famer Earl "The Pearl" Monroe will share the honor of replacing the white gem in the game (mostly because Oprah Winfrey refused to legally change her first name to "Opal"). Lastly Amber Smith, former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and first model of the original Wonderbra ad campaign, will thumb-wrestle TV and film actress Amber Tamblyn (of General Hospital and Joan of Arcadia fame) for the seventh and final gem spot.

I have to look into that because their 2001 Monolith action figure needs to be mine. (It features zero points of articulation!)

Last April Fool's, the Warcraft blog WoW Insider devoted a day of coverage to Hello Kitty Online, complete with a name change for the site.

This year they're going overboard with the same joke, but changed the punchline several times over the course of the day. Early this morning, it was Mass Effect Insider. Then Twilight Insider. Then Lady GaGa Insider. Now it's FarmVille Insider, complete with fake headlines like "'Slaughter Cow' now an option for stray cows, hints at new ButcherVille game."

now it's plants v zombies.

College Humor fought real dirty.
They plastered a couple of abandoned buildings in Manhattan with "Coming Summer 2010- In-n-Out Burger" signs.

Not an actual prank, but I love this.

Damn, that's pretty dirty. I would have lost my shit if they did that here in Florida. I got to try some In-n-Out burger last October for the first time, as i was in LA. That double double (animal style) with animal fries is serious business!
