I will say that their more recent review show, Half in the Bag, is a lot of fun, mostly because the guys on there are actually interesting to listen to.

You DO realise that...oh, wait...I almost walked into that one...

Sadly I'm the type of person who grinds their teeth at the word "Otaku', so I'll probably never find out if this guy is any better.

Well, it's a girl, actually (her real name, as shown by her Twitter, is Hope Chapman).

Walked into what, Graham?

To be honest that wouldn't make it any better.

Anime's like one of those weird cultural things that's just passed me completely by.

And that's perfectly OK.

I don't get this: the "jokes" on Half in the Bag are horrible, and horribly acted. Worse is my suspicion that they are being bad on purpose: you know, for Irony.

And here I was threatening old-school Assyrian torments on you! God I feel like an ogre.

Assyrian, you say?

Naw, don't feel bad. I've learned to try and be civil with people I like who nonetheless disagree with me.

Speaking of online reviewers, I do like Jeremy Jahns on youtube.

That. Is. Amazing.

Good joke, but it's not an actual 3D conversion. Now that would be nuts.

I know a lot of people are finding Plinkett a tad tired, but this made me laugh...

Probably a dumb question, but...

http://redlettermedia.com/phantom-phriday-mr-plinketts-phantom-menace-commentary-track/

...is a Plinkett Phantom Menace commentary track just milking an already dead and beaten horse?  Or is it worthwhile?  I'm a little scared to click the link, even though his prequel reviews gave me a lot of laughs.

I listened to a bit of it.

I thought it was as you said: milking an already dead and beaten horse.  Plinkett's best stuff came from breaking down the film's issues step by step with visual aids.  Trying to simply comment on it in character while the movie is playing was pretty insufferable, from what little I listened to.

Yeah, I listened to about 11 minutes while doing some chores.  A few laughs, but this is just like how Saturday Night Live keeps returning to the same characters over and over until they loose any initial appeal.  The point seems to be that if you want to take the track into the theater on your MP3 player, it costs you $2.

I might give it a try. Honestly I'd rather listen to the JoBlo guys give it a shot.
