Best thing about baseball is everyone has hope on Opening Day. Even the Cubs.

Not much in the way of hope when spring training started but a couple rookies made a big impression. OF Tyler Colvin and SS Sterling Castro. While Colvin(leading Cactus league in hitting) made the team Castro will start in the minors. Not because hee didn't deserve to make it but because of time played for free Agency.

Roster
C-Soto, Hill
1B-Lee, Tracey(3B)
2B-Fontenot, Baker(3B)
SS-Theriot
3B-Ramirez
RF-Fukodome, Nady(LF)
CF-Byrd
LF-Soriano, Colvin(CF/RF)

Starting Pitchers-Zambrano, Dempster, Wells, Gorzelanny, Silva. Lilly by mid April

Relief Pitchers
C. Marmol (CL), J. Grabow, E. Caridad, S. Marshall. J. Samardzija, J. Berg, J. Gray, J. Russell

Bunch of first timers in the bullpen but atleast Gregg is gone. He killed the team early last year.

Some drama from the spring ftom a Toyota sign over the LF wall at Wrigley to a Cubs tax for keeping them in Mesa. Also Rumors that Fukodome may be traded to make way for Colvin.

Cards are the team to beat in the Central but they aren't good enough to run away with it and will not add payroll at the deadline. If the Cubs stay close they will take it in August.

Best of luck this year to the cubs and their fans. May your ivy never wilt.

Byrd with a 3 run HR to start the season. More RBI's in 11 game than Bradley had in his first 2 weeks. He also ran out of the box as the HR wasn't a gimme.

*and Z gives 6 back.

It was a good run and they gave it all they had. They looked like Champions for an entire half inning. Oh well, there's always next year.

And both teams are 1-2. I'm sure the Sox will never give up 14 this year.

And the Sox have 8 hits the last 2 games. I'd worry about your own boys.

Tyler Colvin needs to play. Sucks that Sori has that horrible contract meaning Fukudome has to go but he has major skill.

Cubs are playing better at home and are up to 5-6. Bullpen blows but the starters are doing great except for Z. He should come around. Silva trade is working out great so far.

And guess who was at the game yesterday?

So, Zambrano to the bullpen.

My brain hurts. It is literally begging for the sweet release of death.

It
makes
no
sense.

Always nice to sweep a division rival. When it's the brewers or Cards it's even better.

Bullpen still needs work but the starting staff has been aces. And with the hitting coming around I think they can go on a run with very beatable teams coming up.

Northwestern/Illini game at Wrigley
Cool pic in link on what the field will look like. That will be a tough ticket.
