Inspired by this post, who would you put in the League for the various decades?

1950s:

Harry Steele (Charlton Heston, Secret of the Incas, 1954)
Dr. Clayton Forrester (Gene Barry, War of the Worlds, 1953)
Lt. Col. Glenn Manning (Glenn Langan, The Amazing Colossal Man, 1957)
Elwood P. Dowd and Harvey (Jimmy Stewart, Harvey, 1950)
Scott Carey (Grant Williams, The Incredible Shrinking Man, 1957)

Here's a 60's era group that has a suprizingly deep pool to pull from:

League of Extrordinary Monsters on your Street!

Herman Munster (The Munsters)
Fester Addams (Addams Family)
Endora (Bewitched)
Martin O'Hara (My Favorite Martian)
Joe Friday (Dragnet). What? The guy's a friggin robot.

Mode of transportation? My Mother, The Car.

Thank ye. I figure he'd send them out to do good and what not, but at the same time he'd send them out simply to make headlines for his papers.

Candyman
Chucky
The Leprechaun
Pumpkinhead
Leatherface

This list reads more like a 'Didja notice' checklist for South Park's Imaginationland episode.

A horror league has potential, after all, Moore's original League of Extraordinary Gentleman was comprised equally of heroes and villians, all united for a common cause. I'd try to trim that down, cut out the redundancies (You need Leatherface and Predator?) and try to find a reason, even illogical, for their cooperation. Phil's league is just regular people, but like he said, there's not a positive outcome.

EDIT: How about an 80's Horror league, all corralled and controled by these men:

I was going to do an Old West one, but most of those dudes did kind of know each other and hang out/meet up at some point.

I would have put Beastmaster in there -- a) because of the mastering of the beasts and b) because of the hotness that was Marc Singer. Rawr!

Add Avram Belinski from The Frisco Kid, and when he touches the Waco Kid, they explode.

I see the Deadly Dozen more as a platoon rather than a team. You've got your grunt slashers (Jason, Michael, Leatherface), your supernatural second line of defense (Freddy, Candyman, Pinhead, Wishmaster) the little guys for tight situations (Chucky, Leprechaun) the muscle (Pumpkinhead), wet-ops spy type (Predator) and even a communications specialist (Samara). And of course Sergeant Hannibal Lecter. Redundancies are OK 'cause they're not all gonna make it.

But yeah, it's a pretty obvious roster.

One of my favorite things that I've written was a spec script for a TV pilot about a WWII era league with The Shadow, Sheena of the Jungle, crack flying ace James "Biggles" Bigglesworth, Ariadne Oliver, with Marian Ravenwood as the leader. That's not who I would have chosen, mind, but I was doing it for a colleague. The plot involved the league reuniting to save Neverland from the Nazis.

I think I've still got the pilot around if people are interested. Lots of in-jokes in that one.

Kind of out of left field, but something along these lines with characters like Conan and Kull (that whole stable of pre-history fantasy characters) being lead by the more civilized Lee Adama would be awesome.
