Sneakers (1992)

A very fun, if slight, team-caper flick. The best parts of these movies are always the creative ways that the teams work together to succeed and how the ensemble cast bounces off each other. Part of why The Italian Job remake doesn't work and the Ocean 11 & 12 do is the chemistry of the cast. Sneakers fits somewhere in between the two, with some actors (Redford and Poitier, Poitier and Aykroyd, Strathairn and everybody) having great chemistry, while others don't have much to do (why was River Pheonix in this movie? What was his character's specialty, besides paying public servants 50 dollars for building blueprints?).

But it mostly keeps things light, which is important in these types of films, and it's got a lot of good actors having a lot of fun. Reccomend it highly.

As a side note, I was looking at the film's IMDB trivia when I saw this little tidbit:

It's funny when they try to pass off coincidences as "trivia".

Sorry, I haven't trusted the search function for a while now, so I didn't even bother. I'll check that out.
