Shield

Anybody pick up the first issue of Shield by Johnathan Hickman? Basically, it's an in-continuity title that examines the role of Shield from ancient Egypt on, defeating the Brood and Galactus centuries ago. Given that I normally hate those "secret history of the Marvel Universe"-type stories, I was surprised at how much I liked this.

I'm curious, hickman's worth following, I'm just a bit concerned it'll turn into a bit of an LXG rip-off...

I like it very much, but I don't think it's supposed to be canon, is it? I took it as more of a What If? series.

Whatever the case, very nice art, and I love this kinda history/supersecrets stuff.
