Not sure how Kobe comes out ahead here.
Magic, Isiah, and maybe even Drexler were past their prime by the time Jordan played them. And as far as the other players you mentioned, they may have been great individual players but how many of them were on great teams. Other than Stockton and Malone, most of those other guys were the stars of their teams surrounded by average talent. Just like Lebron currently is with the Cavs.

Yes and Yes. If the Lakers win next year they need to implement a curfew as soon as the game ends. Get these fuckers off the streets and have them scater back into the holes they crawled out of.

Hahaha, wonder how much extra Chiklis had to pay for his wife to be on that shit.

Do the Celtics really need to try to celebrate a moral victory? Man alive.

"Kevin, your passion, intensity, and dozen uncalled illegal moving screens a game brought us to the brink of our 2nd title in three years... and for that we will claim this moral victory for the city of Boston. Thank you!"

Leave it to Boston to try to class-up a sore loser, victimized, "us against the world" mentality. The perfect ad for Boston fans.

hahahaha McLovin got in on that.... amazing.

What's even more funny is that some of the biggest Boston celebrities, like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Mark Wahlberg aren't on the list. I guess they knew better than to be associated with this crowd.

Hey Donnie Wahlberg and Dane Cook, suck on this: http://deadspin.com/5569332/ron-arte...-for-champions

I didn't click on the link. Maybe it was in poor taste. Who cares? Still when you support a team like the Lakers that has at least one fixed championship this past decade, isn't it unbecoming to take one last cheap shot?

The Lakers have the title, that is what history will show, and that's all that matters, I suppose. However they didn't necessarily outplay the Celtics. (They didn't play as hard that's for damn certain) Sometimes the better team doesn't get to win.

<Am I sulking? Perhaps. Heartbroken, that's for sure Ha>

Unbecoming or not, as a Laker fan putting up with the "Gasol is soft" talk, the "we would've won if healthy in 2009" talk, the tweet that 09 finals was a poodle and a pit bull, the proclamation that it wasn't going back to LA, and Garnett just basically being a dirty player who punches his own teammates and Pierce being an angry, scowling asshole... yeah, I'm going to take a cheap shot when I see a lame as hell ad saying "you're our champs!"

I hope the Celtics fall apart, and the same season ticket holders that were going nuts in 08 for every Garnett illegal pick put the paper bags back on their heads for home games and root for the team to tank so they can get the number 1 pick in the lottery like they were doing in 07.

I don't think Perkins would have won them the game, and because of that in a way I resent Perkins going down because now it means there's an excuse out there, and another reason for that globe ad to exist. It's pretty fuckin funny to see them have to mention Perkins in that ad, a huge element of their moral victory albeit not as large as in 09 (we wouldn't won if healthy), when Bynum didn't play a minute in 08.

But whatever. Thibs is gone and Allen and Sheed are probably gone so the Celts might manage a trip to the second round next year or maybe the east finals and not much else, so I probably don't have to think about them again for awhile. Their moves panned out as far as they could have, their flash in the pan experiment really only worked because they got the last best years from 3 superstars, because their young point turned out to be an amazing player and didn't shit the bed in 08, because Posey stepped up big on both ends, because Bynum was injured and because they got away with a LOT in game 2 on their home floor. That's why they even have 1 title to show for it.

Poor Chris Webber doesn't even have one. So, yay!

That ad was cheesy, silly and pointless but above all HARMLESS. I really don't see how you could blame the Celtics organization for Michael Chiklis and fucking McLovin taking out a newspaper ad saying "we're proud of you"?

What's that you said about excuses?
Where's your ire for that Artest vid?

I don't think anybody really knows what the C's will look like next year. Depends on if they want to resign Allen and Pierce opts out of his contract. I would like both of those things to happen and us to get a good shooter to compliment Rondo. Or something. What will be interesting is how they will do if they have virtually the same roster as this year.

You would never see anyone put out a page in the LA Times mentioning "and we were missing Bynum in 08!" and if they did I would call it the same way -- it's a bullshit excuse and a terrible ad. The reason I brought all that shit is is that the Lakers in 08 have more viable excuses than the Celtics in 2010, but people who bring them up are dismissed outright by sensible people because it's all part of the game and everyone deals with it. That whole section is really not about Lakers excuses, it's about how this Celtics experiment really could have gone a different way considering so many of those factors. Most important if you ask me is the mercenary year Posey had, what he brought to the table in team defense and 1v1 d on Kobe and hitting open threes, and that's the least "excuse-y" thing in there -- he just had a very important finals for them.

I'm not blaming the Celtics organization at all for the ad itself so I don't know what you're on about there, and I think Artest is a complete lunatic... at this point I figured that goes without saying. His video is a joke, I could talk about that if you want, but first I'd have to watch more than 3 seconds of it.

I know everyone that is a Celtics fan has to love them, especially Pierce, but Garnett and PP are both assholes that have really run their mouths over the past few years, or acted like complete idiots, or struck teammates... so hey, karma is a bitch sometimes. You're right, no one knows how the Celtics will shake out but Rondo's improvement isn't going to offset age taking hold of Allen, Pierce, and Garnett. I don't see them getting far in the playoffs.

First priority is Rondo getting a jumpshot, if he knew how to shoot 15 footers this would have been a different series.

Actually I think we can come to a consensus that the ad was pretty retarded. I'm not sure what motivated those people to go through with it.

Pierce annoys me to no end because of his bitchiness and flopping. I like KG's leadership but that's about it. I really have liked Allen but his flopping and faking fouls can get a bit tiresome. I'll hang my hat with Rondo in the future.

btw, Jackson missed the parade because of a doctor's appointment? REALLY?
