Marvel vs Capcom 3

You beat me! I'll just dump all the details from my post...

Details here: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/108/1084564p1.html
Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6vR-d2LZi4

A few things from the article:
-Due out Spring 2011 for 360 and PS3
-Disc-based title
-There are known to be about 30 characters in the game, including Wolverine, Iron Man, Hulk, Morrigan, Ryu, and Chris Redfield, Dr. Doom, Deadpool, Magneto, Captain America and Chun-Li
-The team is using Capcom's MT Framework tech from Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5.
-Capcom is handling all the art.
-Team-based, not sure how many or how it will work.
-No awful jazz music.
-Character-specific endings and a final boss that "Marvel fans will appreciate".
-Character-specific events and quips are planned.

EDIT: Wow, you couldn't have picked a douchier article to link. Who bitches about Capcom making another fighting game? SNK must give him seizures.

Is it really a Marvel vs. Capcom game without the awful jazz music?

Sorry Scott. The article did, indeed, seem epically douchey, but that's the first place I saw it. Your links are superior. You defeat my post without losing a single character.

Also: I still really hope Dante from Devil May Cry gets in there, and Viewtiful Joe maybe.
Not loving the "Not 2d sprites!" look, to be honest.
Also, Strider better be a playable character.
Yeah, Street Fighter IV pretty much threw the "sprite-based games have more accurate hit boxes" argument out the window.
I just envisioned a Cyclops/Viewtiful Joe/Captain Commando team and I may have actually squee'd.

Please make that happen, Capcom? Pleeeease?
What...MARVELous news, hearing that...Marvel vs Capcom 3, for 2011! I cannot wait to play another likely classic Capcom Fighter to go along with...Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV!
Maybe they'll give us Nathan "Rad" Spencer this time.
As long as it's not Dickarm Commando.

Of course I mean Classic Bionic Commando, not "most retarded plot twist ever" Bionic Commando (although he was voiced by Mike Patton).
Thanks for reminding me of that.

"Gonna TAKE you for a RIDE!"

Haven't read all these links yet, but here's Agent M's article on Marvel.com:

Aaaaand Marvel continues the Wolverine-ing of Deadpool.

Eh, who am I kidding? I'll be all over this like Fleed and his period key.
Love to see Dante and Strider in this. Perfect timing as well, with nostalgia kicking in. I guess MvC2 sales on XBLA and PSN were pretty good.
Jesus, has it really been 10 years?
Never saw actual numbers, but there were a couple articles saying MvsC 2 sold very, very well, even more so last month when it was on sale.

That's like losing the main menu's "LET'S GO CRAYYYYZAAYYY!"
Yeah I sorely missed the insano voices from the first MvC (HYPERCOMBOFINISSSHHH!!! KAHYY OHHH!!!) and the GONNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIIIDE from MvC2 drove me insane... seriously, the menu select music was a less than 10-second loop! This drove one of my friends to make a cracked version of the dreamcast game, replacing the jazz music with his own special blend... shit there was Outkast, Mystikal (DANGER!), Cypress Hill, Wu Tang... all kinds of awesome that he threw in as the new soundtrack.

Shit, 10 years! Freshman year of college was all about MvC2 on Dreamcast. Then it became much less fun when people basically played "keep-away" the whole time... basically finding the right team and calling assists and throwing fireballs in the most efficient way possible, causing massive chip damage, which in turn filled the super bar, which in turn allowed them to use their most chipping beam super... rinse/repeat till one side dies. By that time I had moved on to Super Smash Bros. Melee and never looked back though.

Still, the MvC series will always be something I look out for. I can't believe it took them so long to make a third game.
All due to Capcom losing the license to EA and then Activision. The legal kung fu involved in getting the new MvC2 release done was no easy feat from what I heard. The Wii port was the casualty of that. Activision's license ran out last year. Willing to bet Capcom got started on 3 at the stroke of midnight that day.

Speaking of which, what happened to that remixed soundtrack Capcom was putting together for the XBL/PSN versions? that was one of the most exciting things about that release.
Justin Clark, I do not mind that...Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is not arriving on the Wii. I hope that there will be another Capcom Vs...on Wii. DC would be a good fit, Tatsunoko II (with more...Gatchaman, and also Macross, and Speed Racer would be just...Awesome! Otherwise, I am happy that I have both...360 and Wii, as I have....Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Street Fighter IV, and pre-ordered Super Street Fighter IV! Hopefully, soon after...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-3 we will know when...Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is available to pre-order.

I figured the music was so shitty that no remix arrangement could save it. Go here and here and copy them to your console of choice. You'll be much happier.
Gamestop can do it starting tomorrow.
Ninhead, Cool,...thanks for the info!

Way ahead of you on that. That was my SFIV soundtrack for the longest.
So cool to see Marvel vs Capcom 3 becoming a reality, and not just another pipe dream. I guess MvC2's tremendous sales had alot to do with this. Between this, SFIV/SSFIV, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Capcom is once again #1 company for fighting games.
If there's one game I'm looking forward to for the rest of my life, it's this one. I revisited Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and it could be the most addicting game I've played since SF 2 Turbo for SNES. For a 10-year-old game, it holds up amazingly well.
Well the new trailers are out and to be honest I'm not a fan of the cel shading in this. It still seems like Iron Man is the go to guy for max damage with his cannon.
I just hope that they make Thor playable this time.

If I wasn't jonesing for B.B. Hood to make it in before, Iron Man still being a laser spamming bitch pretty much makes it imperative.

Im hoping for Bb Hood, but we all know they going to go with Cable or something.
Thor, should be in the game, with the film adaption arriving next year. Obviously...War Machine should be in MVC 3 as well, because of WM's expanding prescence in the filmed...Marvel Universe. The trailers for...MVC 3 are of course...MARVELous! So far, Capcom has not revealed any, Marvel...Superheroines. I would love to see...Psylocke return. The Black Widow, would also be sensable, along with...Lady Sif.
Well, the last trailer reveals Dormmamu as the probable boss (which may mean Dr Strange asa playable character), but I would love if they followed "Siege" and made Sentry/Void the final boss.
First round, you fight Sentry, second round the massive Void...it could be spectacular and in line with the final bosses in the series.
I'll stick to M vs C 2 thanks. Crazy fun.
Well folks, it looks like the trailer that Capcom had prepared for Comic Con has hit the Internet. Four more characters revealed: Doctor Doom, Chun Li, Trish (from Devil May Cry) and Super Skrull. Also, Viewtiful Joe is almost certainly a lock because there is a silhouette that is 99% his in the trailer.

Here is a gameplay trailer someone posted on another sight. I love Super Skrull's ultras.

Super Skrull is definitely gonna be my main dude.

It also sounds like Deadpool says at one point: "Anime power-up shit!" That can't be right.
It is great to see...Dr. Doom, and my fave capcom fighter Chun Li in MVC3, but, I just want to know one thing. Are there any...Female Marvel Superheroes in the game? So far, it looks like, The Little Rascals...He-Man Woman Haters club! I would love to see Psylocke return, and bring Elektra with her.

rabigjb, Finally, Thor is in a...Marvel Vs Capcom game! It would be the oddest exclusion, with the film...Thor arriving next summer.
The same picture with Viewtiful Joe's silhouette also has a silhouette that's almost certainly Dormammu.
Dormammu was in a trailer. And Viewtiful Joe looks like Gazoo. Are we sure it really isn't Gazoo from the Flintstones?

wadew1, Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is...Awesome! Now, if they would only add...Colonel Nick Fury of...S.H.I.E.L.D.! Those...Marvel vs Capcom Fight sticks are...Sublime!
Is it just me or is this game looking really, really sharp?
Unlockable costumes!

Hopefully, there are at least three per character, so I can roll with an army of M.O.D.O.K.
the graphics might take a bit getting used to, but still...this looks awesome!

oh and Arthur!!

Uh that's just a color change.

February 15th, folks - that's the date.

Much, much quicker than I though. I cannot wait.
ShaolinMK, That is just...MARVELous news! Too bad the release date wasn't...Valentine's Day!
