Awesome uses of songs in movie trailers

Saw the trailer for KILLERS today, and while the movie looks predictably bland, the way 'Psycho Killer' by Talking Heads is used gave me an adrenaline rush. It just fits wonderfully. And I now have that song on repeat right now.

Wake Up. Arcade Fire. Where The Wild Things Are. Thread Over.

I missed you, Ripoll. Don't leave again.

Under Pressure has been used a lot, but none more better than in Adaptation. (my pick for best movie trailer ever.)

Cover your eyes, stab your finger at the back of a NIN album, and cut picture appropriately.

Also, one should never forget the titular track to Birdemic. (Kicks in 1:33)

Up there with 'Wake Up' from WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is The Smashing Pumpkins' 'The End Is the Beginning Is the End' from WATCHMEN.

Most times Carmina Burana has been used.

There are plenty of awesome songs used in movie trailers, but I just want to take this as an opportunity to say I never want to hear that fucking MUSE song in another trailer again. I fucking hate that MUSE song.

You know the one.

Movie is garbage, but Jem's song 24 is used really well.

M.I.A.'s Paper Planes in Pineapple Express

It's not a real trailer, but the moment the fake Shining trailer goes from funny to brilliant is the moment Salisbury Hill kicks in.

Really liked the W trailer with "Once in a Lifetime." Shame the movie was a disappointment.

And the music in it is a "no duh" choice but I really like the trailer for THE RUNAWAYS. The one that's only like a minute long. The way it's cut + "Cherry Bomb" = pretty rousing... in a great seedy rock n roll way

The Garden State trailer, with 'Let Go' by Frou Frou, was a pretty great match. And 'Paper Planes' in Pineapple Express was perfect.

'How It Ends', on Everything Is Illuminated at about 2:30.

'Be Here Now' on Away From Her.

ETA: Worth noting that in both cases the song does not actually appear in the film. Likewise:

'Mister Blue Sky' on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, especially when the title comes up at the end.

Dimmu Borgir's Progenies of the Great Apocalypse in the original Hellboy trailer.

I think 300's use of NIN is the best.

The Muse song is probably Apocalypse Please. Last seen by me in the Unleashed trailer.

Do they have to be songs and not soundtracks to other films? If soundtracks are in...

Lux Aeterna By Clint Mansell in.... everything! I love the music but it's overused (Two Towers and Sunshine being particular favourites)

I quite like the Morricone at the start of Kill Bill Part II.

I'd like to see a Human Centipede trailer cut to Smash Mouth's All Star.

It was a cheap choice, but I still get a kick out of the Willard remake using Bullet With Butterfly Wings.

I'm not really reaching here, but "Hey Little World" was perfect for the Kick-Ass trailer.

"The Day the World Went Away" definitely helped in leading me to believe that TERMINATOR SALVATION wasn't going to be complete shit. It lied.

I see what you did there.

I'm a sucker for a well-placed usage of "Baba O'Riley" myself.

Besides a couple that have been mentioned here, a brilliant match of song and trailer recently was Nina Simone's "Wild Is the Wind" for REVOLUTIONARY ROAD. The build up is fucking incredible.
