Heaven Can Wait (1978)

Picked up the dvd after not having seen it in years, and loved it. Beatty does a great job, and the main theme is infectious. I still can't get it out of my head. Funny, and heartwarming. Especially the relationship between Beatty and Julie Christie, which is no doubt helped from their actual offscreen relationship.

Dyan Cannon and Charles Grodin nearly steal the show as the scheming wife, and Personal secretary. I lost it when Dyan Cannon screams at the sight of her supposedly dead husband, and Grodin says it was because she saw a mouse. Also when simply says that they don't love each other and should get a divorce.

Loved the ending too. He doesn't remember anything from his previous life, and it's heart wrenching to see the sad look on Jack Warden's face that his friend doesn't remember him anymore. The final walk across the football field to the main theme was wonderful.

If you haven't seen it, you should definitely check it out. It's worth a purchase. Especially how cheap the dvd can be had. I got my copy for $3 at Big Lots.

It's been a really long time since I watched this movie but I remember liking it. They just recently put it up on Netflix streaming and I think it's in HD so I'll definitely be checking it out sometime soon.
