Hit Skyrim hard last night so all that I had for dinner was a Ramen soup and popcorn later in the evening. My stomach was pretty empty so when I did take my Ambien to sleep it hit me like a mallet. I'm such a milk drinker.

<--- "milk drinker", haha

Bought a butternut squash to be a side dish with tonight's meal. No one else in the family wanted any, so dinner essentially became me having a love affair with all two pounds of that beautiful, beautiful gourd.

And it was a girl squash, so it was perfectly heteronormative thankyouverymuch.

Sushi at some trendy riverside joint in the downtwon area.  Overpriced, tasty and not enough.  After two martinis and a couple jugs of Saki, I had to hit taco bell for a coupe 5 layers burittos.

There's a place near me that does an all you can eat sushi deal for around 20 bucks.  While far from the best I've had, it's still pretty tasty.  I generally spend as much, if not more, on sake than food, but I always leave full, drunk, and happy.

Anyways, tonight I've got some leftover broccoli rabe with garlic I should finish.  I'll probably marinate and grill up a few chicken breasts to go with that.

Just FYI: That piece of cake was an event not soon to be forgotten. I ate it off a big glass plate, with a clear plastic knife and fork. There was something decadent about watching the see through knife wedge it's way down past the layers of chocolate, and it made for one of my top eating experientials in recent memory

Nice little dinner tonight....

1 cup of Orzo

2 Pork Sausage links

Green Onion!

1 slice of Prosciutto

1 teaspoon of Olive oil

Saute the sausage and Green onion with the olive oil in a saucepan for a few minutes, add the orzo and continue for about a minute, then add 2 cups of water, cover the saucepan and simmer for about 10 minutes. Voila!

One thing about working with mostly women (especially mature women) is that around the holidays the amount of food they bring in is obscene and their need to feed the few men who work here is overwhelming.Today I was offered peperoni rolls, donuts, Christmas cookies, Stromboli and a Vicodin. of course I said yes to each and everything. I feel like throwing up.

Vicodin is a food? Otherwise sounds much like my workplace

So I'm looking to rid my diet of potatoes and brown rice, which means I'll need to get most of my carbs from veggies.  The only problem is I know nothing about veggies.  Does any body have a secret recipe for a cool veggie snack like roasted peppers or something like that?

Vicodin is a food. Tonight my wife says she is making taco's, re-fried beans, all the fixin's. So I am having faux-mexican food chased with Prilosec cooked by my very Irish wife. That's a spicy Christmas meatball.

I have a special free pizza tonight that I'd been holding off on ordering. It's a $25 pizza that I got for $5.96

Roasted garlic, caramelized onions, basil, mushrooms, extra cheese and sundried tomato

Here is an iPad photo of it

Don't you keep the basics around Kate? Ramen soup? Tuna? Bread? Frozen pizza? Ketchup packets?

I ended up scavenging for loose change and bought myself a candy bar, and I ate 1/5th of a bottle of clover honey

And I had some pasta and stuff on hand but not the will to cook it. If only I'd had some vicodin food : /

Hmmm...Indeed : /   I feel bad for you Kate. I'm guessing it's because of my upbringing I feel the need to feed people or at least worry if they "are" eating. A candy bar is not enough.

It's doubly ridiculous because half the time my parents are super vigilant about my eating, grilling me on whether I'm eating, how much I'm eating, ETC, but then sometimes they're just content to let me starve out of spite

It's ok now though since I have my paycheck and can go food shopping this afternoon

I made sauce with meatballs last night for dinner today. The house smelled heavenly. My son worked last night so I promised we'd eat it today. My wife said I awoke in the night in an Ambien hunger stupor and hit the meatballs but I don't remember it so it doesn't count. I'll make some bread and toss a salad (insert jam or jelly jokes here) and have an assortment of peppers and olives. Ice cream and cookies for dessert. My family will most likely eat pasta with tableware and such but I'll just jam the meatballs into a heel of fresh bread and cheese and eat like a savage tonight.

Yum! Sounds great, Ed

Me? Celery sticks + salt, FIVE HOUR ENERGY and a piece of pecan pie

I made pork BBQ yesterday using the ol' crock pot.  Two sliced onions, 6 lbs of pork loin, 2 bottles of Carolina BBQ sauce and 7 hours later?  Heaven.  I ate 2 sandwiches plus a helping with no bread, and then another serving for lunch today.

Tonight I'm going to eat a NY STRIP STEAK, taking in the power and wisdom of the cow as I consume it's flesh

All I will use to season is CRACKED PEPPER, SEA SALT and butter

Nothing makes you feel alive quite like biting into a big chunk of beef

Kate you have problems killing digital video game bunnies and here you rhapsodize about the beautiful yumminess of cow flesh. You are an enigma.

My mom once went to a restaurant where they had you pick your own rabbit that they then took out back and killed. She didn't much care for that experience, and it's the same for me and rabbits in SKYRIM

As for cows, they seem like they're designed to be eaten. I can't picture a cow existing in the wild. I am a proud carnivore, I just don't believe in animal cruelty. I don't eat rabbits in SKYRIM because after I leveled up enough in archery, I'd have no reason to kill them other than sport which I don't believe in

Fudge. Many many of fudge and other types of cookies. I am the official taste tester in my house so it's milk and cookies tonight. And Skyrim.

I got given two separate boxes of local chocolate last night from work. I had a chocolate dinner. Tonight I'm not eating anything because I have to get up early to make Christmas cookies on Thursday. The holidays can be tough!

I also had some fudge made by my office crush, along with some oolong tea and Bannana almond butter french toast.

I got a beautiful new Dutch oven for Christmas, so yesterday I went out and bought a huge chuck roast and a ton of veggies, and am now starting the 4-hour process of a stove-top Yankee Pot Roast.

My house smells of bacon and garlic and celery and onions right now.

I love the holidays.

How come the Chinese food I order looks like a bunch of nightcrawlers packed in a carton and yours looks so good? I'm eating healthy after the holiday binge. Tonight it's Salmon and salad with fond memories of my recent gorging of Prosciutto, Sopressata, breads, cheeses and barrels of olives. Huh.

Been fiddling around with making dishes other than just brown rice, broccoli, and chicken. Last night I threw together a mixed-greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette, capers, and smoked salmon, and a panini on focaccia bread from La Brea Bakery with prosciutto di parma, fontina cheese, roasted tomato, arugula, avocado, and a quick "pesto" I made with leftover edamame beans, garlic, and basil. It was good, and my white trash panini press (a foil-wrapped brick) worked pretty well! Gonna make a pureed broccoli soup tonight from leftover broccoli and have that with the other half of the sandwich.

Ha! As I read your list of ingredients I pictured you hunched over an "alchemy" table in Skyrim putting your dinner together. Sounds great.

Has anyone made polenta in a rice cooker?  If so, what recipe have you used?  Porridge setting or a rice setting?

Unless I specifically am photographing something like that super pizza I ordered a few weeks back, most of the food photos I post come from the Internet. I always take care to search through pages and pages of results to pick out the most attractive, appetizing images for you guys

Today is the beginning of week 3 of my wife and my's Operation: Eating less like a fatty. We've now grown accustomed to the lifestyle change and feel comfortable playing around a bit more with what we're (healthily) eating. Tonight: Roasted Onion stuffed with pecan quinoa.

Made a lovely Yankee Pot Roast last week, and this afternoon I shredded the leftover beef to use in a spaghetti sauce. It's simmering on the stove as we speak, with peppers and onion and celery and garlic.. I have the salad ready and some nice crusty Italian bread, and the Saints are getting their arses handed to them by San Fran. I have a bottle of Russian Standard vodka in the freezer, and Star Wars: The old Republic on standby.

It's good to be alive.

Basmati rice with steamed brocolli, calliflower and brussel sprouts  & butter, with steamed chicken thighs. Maybe some choclate ice cream later as a bed time snack.

Eggplant Parmesan with mix vegetables. I'm also on the whole trying not to eat like a fatty. Wish me luck!

Roasted lamb shoulder.

I salted and peppered it, threw it in a pot with fresh rosemary and an onion (didn't have garlic), then baked it for four hours at 325. After it came out I took the juices and reduced them with a little red wine.

My god it's awesome, no carving necessary it just falls apart. To think my main reason for choosing tonight to do this was to free up freezer space.

Tonight I feast on Indian food! Creamy saag aloo with pulao rice, garlic naan and veggie pakoras to start. Mother of God...

I'll probably have a bowl of Honeycomb cereal. My ex-girlfriend used to say, "That's not dinner!" But if it's dark outside when I eat it, it's dinner.
