A local multiplex has just been acquired by this chain. I've never heard of it before. Anybody know anything about them? Do they suck?

Eh, that's about all we have locally here. They're ok as far as those chains go. I have no real complaints that aren't universal to all big theaters.

The one in Chattanooga is kind of a dump, if I remember correctly. I was there on a business trip and wasn't really up for hotel spanktravision, and a google search gave me this as the closest option. My opinion may be colored by the clientele this particular theater drew, but the place seemed pretty run down.

ETA: Good to hear they don't universally suck. One is opening near my folks, and the options they currently have are only slightly better than watching a projection on a hobo sheet down at the railyard.

They opened one a few miles from my office a few years back. It's the only theater I will go to now.

As long as it's a new one, I wouldn't worry. Both of ours are newer and as far as chain multiplexes go, they're fairly nice.

The one thing I do fucking HATE about ours, and I can only assume that this is a nationwide design problem... of course they have to have exit doors down by the screen. However, this also means an exit sign with a BRIGHT fucking green light emitting from it that, depending on your level of nitpickery, pretty severely lights up the screen on that end.

It's the sort of thing that no self-respecting theater should have.

The one near me is now my preferred choice of theater. Comfortable seats, top flight digital projection, I love the place.

Eh, it's all right. I usually go on weekday matinees when no one is there, so I can't really judge the clientele. It has had trouble with brain dead teenagers causing trouble, so your perceptions probably were colored by its illustrious customers. It's better than any of the Carmike locations, but that's not saying much. The Wynnsong, now that's a dump.

My area Lowes is like that. Such a fucking distraction.
Rave didn't actually build this place so I already know it's not a problem.

Yeah, it's horrible and this was a brand new theater that they built. Can't believe that shit gets past the design phase. There should be some sort of awning or recess for the door so they can still have their bright ass sign without it washing out the screen in a green hue.

Who'd they buy, Doug?

The Ritz 16 in Voorhees.
More accurately, they bought it from National Amusements who originally bought it from Ritz. I considered NA quite a step down and was afraid anyone who took it over from them was even worse.

Shit, it's gotta be an improvement. Broke my heart when NA bought that theater.

That's also who owns The Bridge now

Yeah, but I hated that place from day one.
