We stab 'em you... aw fuck it. I got nothing for this level of tragic.

So are guns illegal in China?

I never really checked into it. What's more fucked up is that kid stabbing is becoming a trend over there.
Yeah. IIRC, there were at least 3-4 separate incidents of adults stabbing children in that article, and one of them was a fucking teacher!

I thought there was nothing that could shock me anymore. Now I need to go outside and grab a smoke just to settle my jacked up nerves.

They should ban knives so these things won't happen anymore.

Yeah, knives are totally the same as guns. Take it elsewhere.

"The NRA says 'guns don't kill people, people do.' But I think that the gun helps. You know? I think it helps. I think that if you just walked around going 'Bang!' you wouldn't kill too many people would you? You'd have to be really dogdy on the heart for that to work. I think that people should just try that. Walk around going 'BANG, BANG, BOOM, RATTA TAT, BOOM, RATTA TAT, BOOM!' I think that they should just try it."

I blame the "You vs. a roomful of 5-year olds" meme.

But when knives are outlawed, only outlaws will have knives.

Perhaps he was trying to see if the old proverb....

Four thousand throats may be cut in one night by a running man...

was legit, and he got a cramp early on?

Ahahahahaha.

Not to derail too much, but the thing with guys trying to make an asinine point about gun control using this story is that, had the guy been carrying firearms, it would likely be 28 dead children, and possibly a much higher number.
28 seems like a lot, yes, I agree. But you have to realize that at first he only stabbed 16, but then, you know, half an hour later...

And that is why China will always be behind the U.S. They're underachievers.

But don't blame the tools, blame the carpenter.

If it was a Chinese firearm, the thing would jam after the 10th kid. Those fuckers move fast and shoddy workmanship is shoddy workmanship.

I hate to play Kid Murdering Deadliest Warrior here, but the knife made sense for the crazy psycho on the go.

I must shamefully admit that suddenly seeing a title saying "5 preschoolers hit with hammer" got a chuckle out of me. I blame my black, black heart.
STOP!

Hammer Time.

Seriously though, what the fuck is wrong with these guys?
Maybe its a game over there.
What is wrong with China that people are compelled to sit at the computer till they die of exhaustion or go on kindergarten murder sprees? They have some unique problems over there

I don't think the death count would've been higher if he had a gun. Think about it logically. A handgun will accept, say, an average of 12 rounds. Assuming he doesn't miss and aims COM every time, that's 12 dead kids. Then, empty. He'd be left defenseless and as we all know, standing around unarmed in a room full of kids is a pretty unhappy situation. DO THE MATH
post #27 of 41
Well, he could have pistol-whipped them too.
Parents just don't understand?
Pistol whipping? Come on, might as well just hit people with a brick, it'd be cheaper

Did you read the article? No fatalities. Lots of critically-injured kids, but nobody dead. Pretty sure that would change if the guy was carrying two or three handguns.
Even if the guy had probably never fired a gun before in his life? Kids are small and always running around, pretty hard targets. But as he's an amateur, I'd propose something like this:

And yeah, I read it, but I usually only tend to post here when I'm drunk.

Holy fucking shit, at this rate this threads going to have to become a sticky...

Seven children hacked to death in kindergarten attack

Quote:
The latest vicious attack on a Chinese school has seen seven children hacked to death and at least 20 others wounded at a kindergarten in northern China, according to state media.

The attack was the fifth violent assault on school children in less than two months, and comes despite a push to boost security in and around schools across the country.

The Xinhua news agency said the attack took place in the city of Hanzhong in Shaanxi province, and that the injured had been taken to hospital for treatment. No other details were immediately available.

Several similar attacks on young children late last month shocked the nation, and raised fears about possible copycat assailants.
OK what the FUCK is going on in China? I guess what we're seeing now are copycats? Child murder isn't the best choice for a national trend, next time they should just invent a new dance or reality tv show or something.

Combine lack of mental health net + focus on numerically few underage part of demographic = shit load of children shorn of valuable flesh space.

In World War Z, I think the zombie outbreak started in China. Though in the book they do a much better job of covering it up until it's too late. Just saying. [/tinfoilhat]
And people scoffed when I asked what was wrong with China

Perhaps you could repeat that in English?

You would think that with as the country with the world's largest standing army, they could spare a soldier or two per school to deal with issues like this.

Guess their cyberwar divisions are too busy at the moment to spare anyone.

As much as you'd think it's China, it ain't. The winner, with 11 million plus soldiers, is Iran.

China does not have an effective and universal system to deal with its mentally ill. The most effective treatments are only doled out to those with enough money (i.e. a small percentage of the population). China also, especially now, has a culture (I'm not trying to sound authoritative but this is what I hear) that magnifies the importance of children (proportionally much smaller part of the population compared to a number of nations due to mandatory birth control policies). So a quick way to gain notoriety and attention for all those crazy people is attacking children. As far as "flesh space", consider that lyrical license.
