Because I really liked his character in the film and spoke highly about that aspect of the movie. Just read the AGS thread and my comments there.

Folks, I'm not going to try to explain the inexplicably boneheaded comment I made. Any attempt to do so would be over-shadowed by how ill-advised and poorly thought out it was. All I can do is apologize for such a rushed, poorly thought-out statement, and hope that I have enough of a history here to make clear that that comment is in no way representative of me. It was never my intent to defend what Taylor did, and regardless of my mental state at the time, the barest amount of thought needed to realize that post was a bad idea should have been there.

I didn't see the press conference and haven't read anymore about it since this morning, but that's not a completely batshit statement - I could've lost a lot of money betting that the Duke lacrosse team was rapey-er than you, Jake.

Well, it's not a completely batshit statement, but it's still basically a tacit endorsement of questioning the veracity of the statements of rape victims based on one single court case when there already have been x amount of proven rape cases and christ knows how many unreported rape cases
